Just got one of our customers cars off the dyno, and wanted to share the results! He wanted a setup that was driveable yet went down the track well. Looking forward to him getting it to the track this year!

If I stabbed any lower, it just flashed the converter and spiked the tq readings .
It has 4600 vig converter, Cheapo ebay 1.75 stainless headers (hence the large split on the cam), True duals w/ Xpipe. Car drives like a dream, and still has a MAF.

What kind of cost is involved in making an ls3 block into 427 ?
With such a good idea, why in the world didn't the customer get some LG Pro Longtubes or one of the other top brand name headers ??
Was a ported 92 mm FAST and 95 mm TB ever considered ??
Not trying to talk ****, just wondering why the owner went cheap on some of the vital options for this motor to inhale and exhale ??
Love the numbers, and what do you think she will do at the track ? 10's ???

Sorry about our number on the sheet, its on all our dyno sheets. I posted it with it removed.
To answer the questions, Numbers are Unlocked. I dont think a single disk Vig would be happy with a WOT lockup with this power.
Engine is in a 98 Trans am, so no LGs here. (Wouldnt be my first choice even it they were available. Ive picked up power with Kooks over them on several C5s).
The Intake, TB and Headers were on the car with the old cam only stock bottom combo. There is a little left (10hp or so) on the table with some better (larger) headers. I doubt a 92mm over a 90 would net much gain. However, the customer frankly ran out of money and headers can be added later.
The heads are out of box 225 TFS. The 235 are for a larger 4.125 bore. (This bore is 4.032). This engine as mentioned is 4.1 stroke BTW.
As for performance expectations, the car ran 11.3-11.5s consistantly with the cam only set up, so deep 10s should be there on this combo.

I believe the bore is bigger then that. The LS3 starts at 4.060 bore and therefore to have a 4.032 would be a little tough. Plus you need a 4.1" stroke and a 4.060 or 4.065 bore for a 427 LS3.
Just for those reading here a 427 is a very easy combo using the LS3 or L92 block. A 416 is a 4" stroke and a 427 is a 4.1" stroke. The nice thing is you still have a ok bore to stroke ratio unlike the 393 LS1 motor's with used a 3.905 bore with a 4.1 stroke.
I have one similar to this going in within the next couple months with a little bit better head, better intake manifold, and a way better set of headers. This thread just gave me a hard on as to what I might beable to do.

Your correct, I meant 4.062. Too used to talking about ls2s.
Good luck on your upcoming project. I haven't seen too many mild Hyd. cammed N/A combos putting down this much on pump gas (11.1-1 comp).
On a M6,(especially an efficient C5 or 6) this combo would be 600+rwhp easily.

Thanks, and yes for sure it would be nasty in a m6 car.
I have a 427 with ETP LS7 4" bore heads, a ported LS7 intake manifold, ARH 1 7/8" headers with 3.5" collectors to a 4" outlet. 11.5:1 CR, with a 248/256 duration cam.
A little bigger on the cam, but I think I can get the tune just right on it to still be a nice driver.
My down side is like you I have a 12 bolt but I also have a T-400 going in. Tired of breaking tranmissions and figured I could get a T-400 to hold.
Looked into the 4L80 but the cost was up there and I already owned a nice TH-400 from a Race Camaro I owned before.
That car should run low 10's easy with a good 60ft. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 10. teen out of it with good track conditions depending on weight.
Good luck.

Kick ***.
Shane must be pumped. I would put a picture of the 4l80 up there since that makes the numbers much more impressive
Another solid TFS performer. Those definitely have to be the best heads on the market.
