Default Z06 With TEA 5.3's and MTI Hammer Cam- Dyno Results

How's this for a little baby cam. I know I don't have enough cam for the heads, but I don't have and drivability issues in traffic either.

Anyway, I thought I'd share my dyno with all of you.

sorry to bust your bubble, but there is a spike in your graph, your actual max power is 410.00. I think you could have made that or more with stock ls6 heads, or check the tune maybe there is some more in there

Are you running cats? With a cam that small, those numbers seem right on target to me. Get a ASP pulley, TB, and loose the cats if you have them and you'll pick up quite a bit.

Nice numbers, I was looking into trying one of those 'big' C1 cams next

Just out of curiousity, how come you just didnt get you LS6 heads ported?

A C5 will always dyno a little less then an f-body, the spike isnt that bad - 412-415rwhp is nothing to sneeze at with that size cam - congrats..

Dude, What is your problem with TEA? All I have ever seen you do is bash them and any results posted with cars running there heads. My tune is perfect. 29 degrees of timing 13.0 A/F and no knock on 91 octane. I ran this same setup on another DynoJet last month and pulled 419RWHP. Maybe there was a spike there as well. I didn't make as much power with the stock LS6 heads, so I changed them.

I don't have the fastest car out there, but I can consistently trap over 120mph with over 100 degree outside temperatures.....Can you?

I was going to but I didn't want to change cams again. The 5.3's are plenty for the size of my cam. This route let me keep my LS6 heads and get some additional power for only a few bucks.

You will be happy with the cam. I love it, excellent power curves. It puts the power down where and when it needs it.

BTW: where you buy the heads from?

Casey

I'm not so sure I would want to give up my LS6 for cores either if I had a new Z06 I was just curious. Once again nice numbers.

I don't have the sheet anymore, but I think it was around 405RWHP/393RWTQ. I'm pretty happy with the way the car is running in our hot Sacramento temperatures. I'm going to run it through the winter in this configuration, then go to a all-bore setup with a direct port giggle hose.

I've been watching your posts lately and have seen you consistently bash other people's results. If you dont have anything positive to say, why dont you just stay out of it Why arent your "go fast goodies" on your car? Get them on and then we'll all pick apart your dyno/track numbers.

He may be a basher but he's right about there being a spike.

If before the 5.3's the car was at 405rwhp & 393rwtq, and the graph looks like ~417rwhp ignoring the end to me so & 394rwtq, that would mean the TEA 5.3's were worth ~12rwhp & ~1rwtq over a set of stock LS6 heads.

It would be good to see the other graph with the LS6 heads if possible.

Exactly, The stock LS6 heads flow really well with smaller cams. Brian Tooley was very surprised at my minimal gains and gave me several options at his expense (*Great Customer Service*). I was talking to a local performance shop in Yuba City, and they are seeing the same thing with several big name vendors heads and smaller cams. The gains are minimal on Z06's until you step up to a big enough cam to take advantage of the heads.

My intention was not create all of this controversy. I'm pretty happy with the way my setup runs.

I found my dyno before installing the heads and there's a spike in this one as well. Here it is:

I dont mean to bash your car or tea but I would be throwing those heads through tea's front window if I gave up my stock ls6 heads for 5 hp, I dont know how any one can be happy with that, unless you got the tea heads for an even exchange for your ls6 heads
I am not a basher, I say it the way it is, I read in another post that just got locked that tea stg2's, g5x2 and full bolt ons pulled 412 rwhp on lg's dyno during a tuning session, then tooley defended it by saying the g5x2 cam is no good, but how is it no good if cars with stock heads can pull that and some more. I dont understand how you guys get so brain washed thinking tea can do no wrong and when I say that the results are lower than expected with all the low posts everyone gets mad at me. Im just trying to help not make any one mad, please dont be mad at me
