Default What should I expect?

So my buddy and I are taking the Birds to the track this christmas break, and was wandering what I should expect.

It will be both our first times for actual track racing but we've done plenty of the street fun.

I know my buddy will break 12's hes running full bolts on plus some suspension and tires and so forth but more importantly I was curious what you guys think i got a shot at...

I have a stock m6 2001 Trans Am. It does have flowmaster exhaust, and Nitto 555R tires.

Is it possible for me to break real high 12's or am I hoping for too much?

Oh also if not what all can I add easily without going through the bring it to a shop and get installed? I know a lid but anything else?

If i forgot any other key info let me know

What is the altitude for the track? I would do lid, and cutout, and if you can drive, 12's are very possible.

umm, its around Houston Texas so not sure, I don't even know the name of the track, ill ask my buddy.

But 12's are possible huh?

What if I get a tune? would that help alot?

If I get a tune how does that work? Are there different tune options?

(I know how it works but what are my options)

Depends on the tune...you can get handheld or dyno tuned by a shop (I would pick the latter), but those wont really net you the good gains yet. I would get some gears (4.10s imo), lid, and port the tb, and that is 12s. Don't break the rear end, and your good.
