Default Going to be racing a Honda S2000

So i know a kid who has a 2001 Honda S2000 that wants to race, who really thinks it is the ****. This has been his facebook status for the past week..."holy ****, you think a v8 is better then vtec you should pull your head out for your *** sometime, there is a replacment for displacmnt, its called VTEC bitch!"...Needless to say i want to teach him a lesson.

His Honda- Low mileage, 50 shot of NOS, cold air intake, and full exhaust. He said he would race without the NOS, but i don't trust him. Says he puts down about 320 with the NOS, but never had it dynoed.

My Camaro-137k miles, 6-speed, Whisper Lid, Smooth Bellows, 85mm MAF, Koni Single Adjustable Front Shocks, Bilstein Rear Shocks, Thicker Front and Rear Sway Bars, B&M Short Shifter, Centerforce Stage 2 Clutch, Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel, Loud Mouth 1 Cat-Back, and shitty/old Firehawk Wide-Oval Street Tires.

He wants to go from a 40 roll. My questions are: Recommendations on a rpm or mph for me to start at to best kick his ***? What are my chances? What should the outcome be?

In addition, I just want to say that there if a race does take place on the street, it will be very late at night on a completely empty road

Honestly from what I've seen out of S2000's, you *should* spank him. They are dogs with just bolt ons. I raced one a while back with my cammed and bolt on 305 TPI and put 1.5 to 2 cars on him from a roll! TPI's don't shine from a roll either.

I would be a little nervous that that 50 shot is more like a 100 shot or 125 shot. I don't see any problem with you winning if it is just a 50 shot though.Make sure to let us know the outcome if it happens, and please agree that if you win he change his facebook status to "I worship the V8."

what motor is it? if its a 2.0 youll deff beat him..they dont make max power, torque till almost redline and only make ~240hp to the crank..intake/ exhaust, 50 shot..bout 260-275rwhp im guessing..

Try to get a 35 mph roll if you have to do a roll. you can start in first at 40 but wont be much there. Also you should smoke the hell out of him even if he has a 50 shot. However he is prolly full of **** and running 120-150 So if he said he will go with out the shot have him pull the bottle and let someone hold it. However do not tell him to pull the bottle until right when you are going to race because he could just pull a spare. Either way have fun mopping the floor with his ***

With just the bolt-ons he's mid 13s on a great day, so there is no reason you shouldn't beat him soundly. Unless he has more bolt-ons than he's telling you, and is geared. Should still win though.

i cant believe people put such short gears in them lol there was a s/c one with 4.56's running around..but i guess if you make power at redline you pretty much have to...and a 9sp

Well they have 4.10s stock... lots of people run 4.77s. These cars love 6,000-9,000rpm.

yeah..i gotta admit a car with headers and great sounding exhaust sounds amazing, spinning 9k all day sounds amazing for a 4 banger...just not enough power with the rpm there turning..maybe full bolt ons, ported head, intake, ported TB etc...or loose 500rpm and gain a little more hp and tq and get a 2.2

A good friend of mine ran a '01 S2000 for a while. It was stock with the exception of the exhaust. It was a joke to run with my WS6 from a stop or a low roll. They pull better up high, but still nothing to worry about for a Ls1. With his mods I can't see you really having a problem as long as its from a low dig. and its smart to get him to take his bottle out. if he's not going to use it the he shouldn't have a problem with it.

If you do a roll race from anything less than ~30mph in an S2000, you should expect to lose. They will start well below their powerband, and it takes a while to get there. From a stop (if you're brave) you can slip the clutch enough (or drop it from a high enough rpm) that you will always be above 6,000rpm.

Yeah a bolt-on 100 shot S2000 would be a pretty damn fun car I think.

If u do a dig my money is on the S2k they are so easy to launch stock idk about with those mods but stock just rev to 5k dump the clutch and it goes guess that's where having no tq helps lol.

From 40roll I doubt u spank him idk if u will beat him he's prolly 280whp and weighs 2800lbs

If you drop the clutch at 5,000rpm, it will bog. Need to go to ~6,000rpm for that.
