Default Whipple Cobra vs bone stock 600 - predictions?

I got into a debate with a couple members over on SVTP about a video one of them posted of his 600rwhp Whipple Cobra vs his friend's bone stock 2008 GSXR 600. The rider couldn't ride at all and the Cobra beat it. From the bike's first gear (40-130) it was just over a car and a bit worse from second (about 60-130).

After seeing those results and based on other races I've had with Cobras and other cars in that power range, I am of the opinion that with a good rider, the car wouldn't catch the bike from 40-130. It would probably be coming back but the bike would jump out too far in first for it to be caught by 130. I also said that from second, it would probably stay even for the start, then the car would start slowly pulling away up to 130.

It turned into this whole big thing with them saying things like, and I quote, "a stock 600 is a peanut for a 600 hp Cobra" and "if I ever lost to a stock 600, I would scrap my car". They also finished up with something along the lines of "Don't call BS until you get a race with a twinscrew."

So being the reasonable person that I am, I found one and set it up. In about 3 1/3 hours, I'm heading out to meet up with a Whipple that put down in the 580's and I'm also meeting my friend with a ported/nitrous Cobra, as well. We're bringing an HD camera and a cameraman so we'll have vids and results by this afternoon/night. My bike is a bone stock 2007 GSXR 600, so just slightly slower than the one in their video, and I weigh about 158 pounds plus clothing and gear.

Any predictions? I'm not dead set that I'm going to win these races, but I do feel somewhat confident in my predictions. Who knows, maybe they're right and I'll be proved wrong, but I just like good close races regardless of a win or loss and I thought it would be especially fun because of the whole debate and some of the phrases that were being tossed around.

So anyways, make your predictions on each race:

40-130 (bike starting in first gear, I would assume Cobra in second)

60-130 (bike starting second gear, I would assume Cobra in third)

Personally, based on our races, I don't think the Cobra will be ahead by 130 off a 40 mph start. Being as I haven't raced one though, I'm just guessing based on how I think I'd do against one.

From 60-70 I think the Cobra will pull.

Hopefully he doesn't bring a passenger and I get to video the race and get a ride in it

Yeah, I went through the traps at 126.6 the other day and never got out of fourth (never hit the limiter either), so I'm gonna run it to the top of fourth, which appears to be right around a legit 130 mph (they read much higher than that on the speedo).

I really do think I'm gonna get pulled from 60 or 70 to 130 starting in second, but we'll see what happens. The first gear race is the big question.

Great video, that was fun to see a Cobra lose for once and have the people at SVTP eat their own words.

What did they have to say about that video?

I'm not on there but I'm going to guess a lot of:

"heat soak"
"bike has hidden mods"
"cobra needs driver mod"

Well played. I'd love to see some of the comments posted now. Either thunderstruck507 is right, or they are just pretending that thread didn't happen.
