A guy I know around here has got an old 5.0. Its got the GT40 crate engine and hes running bolt ons with one of the alphabet cams. He may have different heads other than the GT 40s but probably not. Its got 3.90s under it and a 5 speed. It sounds really strong but then again you never know.What do you guys think this car would run like? Would it be in bolt on LS1 range or a little faster.

Depends on the exact setup and traction.

It could range from 13.50's @ 105mph to 12.20's @ 110mph.

I had a 91 GT with AFR 165's, e303 cam, TFS intake and most bolt-ons. It ran a 13.30 @ 107mph with terrible traction and in the heat.

If dude has GT-40 heads (not much better then stock E7 heads at all) and is running either the E303 or F303 cam (the X303 and Z303 cams would be pointless w/out better heads) he's probably making around 300-350 hp depending on other mods. If he has long tubes, good exhaust, intake manifold like a Trickflow Trackheat or the like, bigger MAF & TB and ignition, probably real close to 350 hp (being optimistic). With traction and good driving I guess it'll run real low 13's or high 12's, possibly get close to mid 12's depending on the set up. If he has DR's it should rocket out of the hole with 3.90 gears and T5 trans.
