1badeagle 10-25-2011 07:55 AM

Specs are top secret apparently. I've heard 235/245 .64x/.61x 111lsa

No guesses

Those heads are way too large (In. runner volume) to make average torque
throughout the powerband. N.A. accelaration will be less than ideal but I'll
guess 465 rwhp......thing is it will LOVE the juice and should easily eclipse the
600rwhp mark on a 150 shot. Depending on the weight of the car...should
run deep tens.

1badeagle 11-07-2011 11:53 PM

Car should be right at 3000 without the driver I hope. I was hoping to hear a higher NA hp number. Will it make more power without porting the heads?

Also, Anyone ever port there victor jr?

It is often better to sacrifice some top-end horsepower for a substantial
boost in midrange torque. Many people on these forums have gone from L-92s
to a 225 AFR or 235 TrickFlow head and have gone faster in the quarter. This
is especially true on 364 inchers and even 383 as well as 402/408 combos.

im building this identicle engine!! just picked up the ls3 heads new for $600 on ebay.. i would say youl be more to the 500 mark and these heads are not to big for the engine if it was then why did GM put l92 heads on a 6.0l? and the ls3 is a 6.2l thats only 6ci bigger then the 370 ur building? hmmmmm..i think u got a stout combo!

First his 4.020 bore equals 368 not 370
Second GM NEVER put L92 heads on a 6.0......6.2 is 4.065" bore
Third...they work on a 376" because of fly-by-wire torque management
which modulates the throttle body to enhance airspeed by restriction
Lastly he may engine dyno 500 but definitely not to the ground.
Even the Car Craft guys admitted this fact.

It's a 370 not a 368.

Could I make more power with 243 heads instead?

Less peak horsepower but much better average torque throughout the power
band. Your car WILL be quicker. Not my opinion....FACT !!!!!

If you are set on running an LS3 style cylinder head then I would recommend considering our PRC 250cc LS3 aftermarket casting cylinder head. Its going to make great power under the curve as well as up top in the rpm range. Here is a link to them on our website.

If it is the case that the 243's are better, then why are there so many guys with 6 liters switch to the ls3 heads and they are making close to or over 500 wheel?

GM does put l92 heads on the 6.0? engine is called a ly6. Get your info correct, the engine comes in most chevy gas powered hd trucks.

There is a huge thread on ls1gto about guys removing 243 to install the ls3 combo and making 500+whp

I was thinking the ly6 was a 6.0 and not a 6.2
