Default How much RWHP will this make at this compression?????

Correct forum section......maybe I'll get some guesses.

408ci LQ9
9:1 compression
LS1 (241) ported heads (they flow 304cfm)
LS6 intake and stock ported TB
cam will be whatever I'll be using for the turbo set-up

My 4L60E for now.

N/A RWHP guess????

On a 150 shot????

Just curious, might have to run it for a little while till my friend can build my single turbo kit. When I get the turbo set-up going I'll get AFR heads and a different TB.

Hope it won't be a total dog N/A.......lol

The jug will definitely help. That low of compression will show itself on the butt dyno. I'm looking forward to the turbo build outcome. Best of luck.

Yea, I just can't do the turbo build right now.....might be able to in 2 months....maybe 8 months. Just won't know till it happens.

Is there anything wrong with spraying a low compression engine.....or is it perfectly ok? I just want a little extra kick until I can get the turbo kit done........

Nothing wrong with it. Just like with boost, n20 will make more power with more compression but works the same.

Yeah I'm the same boat as you. Just finishing up my turbo 408 motor and trans and just cant get the turbo on yet. I'll be driving it N/A this summer. Mine should be in and tuned in 2 weeks if the trans ever gets here. i was hoping for Mid 400s, but well see. Post up what you end up making and I'll do the same.

My build

408 9.7-10:1 compression for E85 with the turbo
TFS 220 heads
Big Cam (For a Turbo Motor)
FAST 90/90
1 3/4'' headers with 3'' true duals
4L80e
9'' rear

Cool, I'll post up what it makes. Yea, hope mine makes 450 RWHP too.....Its gonna suck driving anything less than ~500 RWHP after having that much for 10+ years. Thats why I might have to spray it......maybe just a 100 shot.

Why waste money on nitrous if your planning to go turbo soon. Just save that money or start getting parts for the turbo setup now.

Just for some extra ***** while I wait for the turbo kit. Could be a long time, maybe 6-8 months till my friend can get started on it.

I probably won't spray it though......keep it fresher for the turbo kit.

Maybe a cheap 100 shot.

Yeah i know the feeling. My h/c 347 was 470 to the tires on a mustang dyno. Now ive spent all this $$$ on a 408 and 4l80e with that low gear... Going to feel a little sluggish. O well it'll all change when the turbo goes on. Goodluck to ya.

Wondering if you ever got any dyno numbers on the 408 you built for boost? Just got mine off the rollers and it put down 463rwhp. Dont remember what the torque was. Basically what I expected for whats done to it and having a 4l80e and 9"

Actually....dropping my block off tomorrow. Going with a forged 370ci, building it for boost.

463 sounds pretty good. Your's is N/A though right.....like 11:1 cr?

Yeah the 463 was the n/a number. Motor is built for boost. Still havent gotten the build sheet yet, but the compresson is between 9:8-10:1. After the tuner got done with the car he thinks i could even run 93 octane even though I had planned on E85, which is why i chose around 10:1 compression as it is mainly a street car and i didnt want it to be sluggish out of boost

Quick Reply: How much RWHP will this make at this compression?????
