Hp estimates

I have a 6.0L (LQ9) wanna know what you guys think about the setup and what hp/tq it would crank out. Also anybody with a similar setup please share numbers. Much appreciated (stock 345hp 380tq)
specs: 236/246 cam
tbss/nbss intake
92mm throttle body
799 heads spring upgrade
1³/⁴ longtubes
42lb injectors
looking forward to hear what you guys think

Sure, I'll take a guess. I say 420/395 to the wheels. Wait, which transmission you running?

4l80e 4000 yank stall numbers sounds good to me

Utinator 03-08-2019 04:17 PM

Oh, the 4L80. In that case, my new guesstimate is 395/375 to the wheels.

Do you have 799 heads, or just the springs?

As you can see in my signature, I have 6.0 heads (317 castings). I had mine milled down .030" to get the compression up. You wouldn't need to do that with 799 heads.

You have a bigger block, cam, and throttle body than me. Based on that, you should be able to get more hp/tq than me. If you don't do something with the heads, you will probably end up with close to the same hp/tq as me. Don't ignore the heads. You can easily make more hp there with what you have. They just need a little tough love. ;)

I have the 799 head I just have pac springs in them no mill work and how much you put out

Utinator 03-12-2019 08:00 PM

Those heads should work well. It wouldn't hurt to shave a couple cc off them, but you should still be around 11.04:1 compression.

I'm getting 382hp/368tq at the wheels with a 10.4:1 compression. My heads were also ported, but I still have the stock throttle body.

I'm gonna stick to my second guess of 395hp/375tq.
