That's what happened to my wife's green plate last week. We failed since the green was peeling some and the reflective level was pretty poor (1987 plate). Must be from all the salt crap that kicks up on the back of a SUV for so many years. We had to drive to the RMV to get a new plate for free. We saw signs at the inspeciton station that if the green plate is still legible and reflective I can keep mine for my truck. We'll see come July when it goes in for an inspection though...

TG for the green plate. I'll never give mine up. If I had to run a front plate I'd mount it on the black plastic air foil below the nose.

I'll tell ya what I do.. I make sure I have the plate thats is to go to the front in the driver reach .. for the most part the LEO wants to see if you have it and that no one else is using it..

The other is I have a Small replacement the size of a motorcycle on the front again if he stops me I have the big one in the car with me...

I never had a front plate on my car when i lived in Warwick and i was on the Warwick Police most wanted list for Hot Rodding around.They told me as long as it was in the car i was O.K.

ya i have fun down there, august was really funny. had a guy in a 10 second 3rd gen camaro trying to get me to race him for 1,000$ in my DD ws6 lol. i told him i would race him but with my other car, he agreed until he seen my buddy pull up with my nova on the trailer. he no longer wanted to run the guy with the 3rd gen was mark, maybe ya know him

I keep my front plate under my seat too but have never had to pull it out.(Ma btw) I took a piece of sheet metal and put a bend in it with some holes to mount too, when inspection time comes around I take 3m double sided tape and stick it on the underside of the fascia in the parking lot, they give me a sticker and it comes right off again. the police have never bothered me about it(including staties) and so I make sure they dont see me with it on and then off again later. going on 5years now

I don't think i no who that is. My friend's have all the old muscle car's (63 Nova tubbed,68 Camaro,72 Camaro w/ dual quads,67 Chevelle ect,ect.)Alot of those guy's around there are B.S. artist's so don't believe them.
