Well I'm Torn.....

Well a month ago I decided I wanted to buy a new daily driver my two choices came down to a 06 Gto and A 08 G8 Gt. so I go out an say this is goin to be easy I'm gonna go test drive them both. What ever one I like more an feel more comfortable in I'll get... Well that didn't work n ow i'm stuck can't decide loved both of them..... I need some help what do you guys think the Gto or the G8....

ssm98z Mar 10, 2009 10:20 PM

goat! a friend of mine has a g8 gt, but i wasnt impressed. but it all dpends on whether you're talking ls1 or ls2 goats

Krazy98Z28 Mar 11, 2009 05:45 AM

None of the above. Mod that Camaro and spank that 03 Cobra.

SyndicateRacing Mar 11, 2009 05:54 AM

Thats a totally dif fund Marco lol That cobras gonna be getting beat by busses by the end of the year and if I buy a Goat its gonna be the Ls2

Krazy98Z28 Mar 11, 2009 06:02 AM

I'd get a TBSS to tow the race car :)

DannoWS6 Mar 11, 2009 06:34 AM

Tough call.

The G8 will give you way more cargo and passenger room, but you will only have an automatic option unless you go with the expensive GXP model.

GM has a $3,000 kickback or 0% on the G8 right now. However you can get a nice slightly used 06 GTO for under 20k.

For a D/D with some utility I say the G8. If you want a sporty car to play with then GTO.

BlackScreaminMachine Mar 11, 2009 07:32 AM

I will say G8, ive been in both and with the 6 speed auto, it makes up so much of a difference and seems that 6L80e is just the perfect split of gearing and durability. The Room is phenominal compared to the GTO. I sat SO comfortable in the rear and im 6'4" plus like said the incentives are there.

greenstang1313 Mar 11, 2009 09:24 AM

go with the GTO

Frosty Mar 11, 2009 09:35 AM

Obviously the GTO will be cheaper but not looking at the finances I'd say the G8 all the way, it's way more of a car than a GTO IMO. But what exactly do you want out of the car? The GTO will be faster out of the box and will be faster with mods but the G8 is more luxury.

CamaroRacing12 Mar 11, 2009 02:43 PM

GTO IMO

i have always been impressed by there design and interior and sound....

BOTTLEFEDSS Mar 11, 2009 02:53 PM

i would go with the G8:thumb:

Personally I'd go with the G8. I like a big 4 door for the daily driving duty. The GTO's are great cars, and I was going to pick up either an LS2 GTO, C5Z or an 03 Cobra last go around. I'd just stick with a 4 door for everyday though, it's convenient.

Nothing is wrong with LS1 GTOs :(

Got1Goat Mar 11, 2009 03:28 PM

Either you need a 4 door (family car) or you don't. You may want a brand new car (G8GT) or a slightly used 06 GTO. We don't know. The only thing that we do know is that we will not be signing on the bottom line and paying for it - you will. Make a decision for you and not us. Just saying.

SyndicateRacing Mar 11, 2009 05:44 PM

come on you can fit a baby seat in a gto???

YeloFevr Mar 11, 2009 06:37 PM

I'm digging the G8's right now. Of course I'm not a big racer...I'm more into just "cruisin'". Not sure which is better for you application.

Blue_00_WS6 Mar 11, 2009 06:39 PM

friends of mine have 08 g8. i would go with that. its a great car

Anonymous Mar 11, 2009 07:18 PM

You sure can. You only need to add an extra 10 minutes to your commute time because of the slow azz seat motor (ha-ha).

MaSTi Mar 13, 2009 11:32 AM

If you want a 4-door DD get an used *cough* STi*cough*. I mean I'd take the GTO over the G8, but that's just me. :)
