Local Places for Roll bar Thinkin about throwing the spray on the car and going for 10s. I am juggling between a prebent bar from S&W that I get installed or a custom roll bar from a local shop. I am thinking of going with a DOM mild steel roll bar because it isnt known to split at the seam like ERW and I've heard you can mig it in and thus it should be less labor (aka cheaper) than chromo. I'm not sure wether to go with a pre built setup. S&W I've heard fits pretty well and their prices seem pretty fair S&W sells an 8pt for 179$ for ERW tubing (dont like the tubing but its damn cheap) Both their DOM and chromo are 399. I am guessing shipping would be around 100$ but I'm not really sure. So after shipping and installing I am guessing its going to be close to or more money than getting a custom roll bar. I really just need a 6pt for now so I can go faster than 11.50 So what should I do? what do you guys think would give decent fitment and be cheaper (price is the big factor here) And then the second question is where should I get it done, only place I've heard of really was tubechassisdesignz.. and his work is great but I've seen a HUGE range of prices for the same end product in different cars. What ever happened to $100/pt. I dont need pretty I just need fuctional. |

If they are not listed on the right, they are not a sponsor, and you can't put their name in the threads. You all know the rules. Thanks, Dave :drive: |

Thanks, Dave :drive: guys if you know of anyone else please send me a PM. But these were the shops I was basically expecting to hear about. I am open to hearing about smaller less well known shops in nh, ri, ct, hell maine. Hell I'm gonna go visit my family don in NJ for the weekend of the 4th. I have half a mind to start calling some shops down there.. Seem to be ableto get work done cheaper down there |

Miller works for DMC now. Knowing you and the $$ situation. Don't waste your $$ on a cage or nitrous right now. You really don't want some cheap/POS looking cage in the car and it's stupid not to go chromoly which costs $$. Work on your driving and get the car consistant first. |

I thought the rule is you can list names, but no contact info like phone number or web site. |
Nj isnt much cheaper, my buddys who had their cages done in their GTO's spent anywhere from 2400-2900 bucks as compared to my 1200. My car was probably a little more difficult then yours will be as well. Not having swing outs put in will save you around 225 bucks in materials as well.... |

Safety isnt an area to be cheap on. If I was in Mass. I would look at DMC for sure - but I would definately want to see the work any shop does. The shop I used Ive seen their customers cars, and their customer cars after a wreck... adds confidence when you see what someone walks away from. |
Sciff5, listen to don,he has never sent you in the wrong direction, spend your money in the right places. Trust me i've been there.had so many parts that were wrong for what i was doing.just spent 3 times the money to get things right. Will your cage be certified??think it over before just spending the money. take care |
