Anyone local with a m6 with 4.10 gears?
I live in hazleton,pa zip code is 18202. If your close by, (like within a 30min drive or something) Let me know. I was going to put some 4.10 gears in my car in a week or two but would like to go for a ride in a 4.10 geared m6 fbody just to physically see the difference. The main thing im worried about is traction and how it pulls up top compared to how it does with my 3.42's. Thanks

You will love 4.10's w/your M6 combo... both at the track and on the street. Believe it, you're in for a pleasant surprise....If you're using a stock 10 bolt, make sure you do the T/A cover and HD stud-bolt kit as well. Also, a pair of HD Moser axles will help keep things together as well.......Best wishes. WJ

You won't regret them once they are in. If you want to drive to Allentown, I'll give you a ride. Traction isn't too bad, but you are a little above my power level lol...

Well, I guess I'll be the first to not cheer for 4.10s. I had 4.10s and felt like I was shifting all the time. First gear was a joke, and I ended up taking off in second sometimes because first is really that short. Before you know it, you're at 4000-5000rpm. Maybe it was that at the time I had them, it was my daily driver, and cruising around the neighborhood late at night or early in the morning, the last thing I wanted to do was have the motor screaming at 4000-5000rpm.
I went down to a 3.73 gear and love it. It still has a nice pull compaired to the 3.42s, but I don't feel like I'm constantly winding out the motor or constantly shifting. Again, this is for a street car. For a track car, 4.10s all the way.

4.10s were one of my favorite mods. As opposed to everyone else I like the more shifting as i can get going to around 45 and actually use 6th in town. Also the new acceleration wasnt a disappointment either

I wouldn't wait too long to change it, because you'll be putting extra mileage on your odometer than you're actually driving.

It's a 17% difference between 3.42s and 4.10s. So when your speedo says your doing 50mph, you're really only going 41mph, when your speedo says your doing 65, you're only going 54mph.
I wouldn't wait too long to change it, because you'll be putting extra mileage on your odometer than you're actually driving.

I've run 4.10's with quite a few engines in my '02 street car.
1) 346 supercharged
2) 383 N/A
3) 441 N/A
4) 402 N/A
5) 346 N/A
The smaller the engine, the more the car needs them. With my 402 and my 441, I really didn't need 4.10's.
