Labor Day Wknd Indy Race..... Well, the biggest and most popular NHRA race of the season coming up this wknd at Indy Raceway Park. There will quite a # of the new Mustang Cobra Jet cars there, running A/S and A/SA. Also you'll see a # of the new Drag-Pak Challengers running A/SA. Should be fun watching these cars bang heads w/each other this wknd. Don Gartlits (yes, Big Daddy himself) will be running one of the new Dodges. Not sure if Tasca has entered their CJ Mustang at Indy....I didn't see their name on the entry list. Will 1 of those new cars win stock eliminator, or will it be one of the "older" cars that have dominated in the past?? Too bad Chevrolet didn't get their "body-in-white '010 Camaro shells out a few months earlier, so fabricators and racers could've built a few stock eliminator cars for this very important race. By the way, the CJ Mustangs are right around 3200 raceweight, and the Challengers just over 3100...Going to be some great racing for sure.

The Big "Go" at Indy..... Well one of the new stock CJ Mustangs went 9.63 @139+ yesterday morning during first time trial runs for stockers....Believe the fastest Challenger was 9.99...didn't get a mph...Believe there are at least 7 of those cars out there running A/S A/SA or AA/SA. We'll see how they do against the older cars in those classes..... WJ

Legal stocker?? That must mean Tasca won't be running the Cobra Jet car at the North American Nationals at NED this wknd....Also, they never ran the car at Indy last weekend, telling me that just MAYBE that car wouldn't pass tech for the stock class.... WJ

To my knowledge, they only have the one 2008 CJ. Ford is now building the 50 '010 models, which will feature a much more efficient Whipple supercharger. (so I was told...) WJ
