A/c charging

Just recently did a heads and cam swap. Can I recharge my a/c without going to a plCe and having it done? How do you trip the compressor to come on to start taking the freeon

there is a kit at places like Autozone you can do it your self

You can get stuff from auto zone to charge it but I think it is best to take it somewhere that can vaccum down the system to get any moisture out of it. And I think will get you a better performing system.

WHen you have a complete discharge of the system, you may not have a choice.

if you opened the system to atmosphere your best bet is to get it evacuated and recharged. have them put it in a good deep vacuum then shoot it up with gas.
if you wanna start the compressor just turn the A/C on in the car with the car running.

You can vac it out your self. I think harbor freight has the tool you need for cheap.
