Default who has replaced their rear main seal themselves?

and how skilled would you consider yourself, and what special equipment if any did you use in the entire process?

Mine blew out on the road today and I had the car towed to a shop, but now I'm second guessing myself. I'll have a space in my parents garage for a week or so (no garage at my house) and a couple evenings. I don't have a lift, just jack stands and a 3 ton hydraulic jack. Contemplating saving myself an *** raping from the shop(s) and doing it myself. I've done a frame up build with my friend on his jeep, but his garage was set up for it, and we did it over the course of months. Time and lack of equipment is my biggest concern.

im doing mine, but then again, mines on a swap so its not fully the same, seems like for a 4th gen, best thing to do with motor in the car is to take the trans out, remove flywheel, then remove the rear engine cover, then replace and re-install..... could be done in one long day....

I'm debating whether I should do mine myself as well. A shop around my area quoted me $350.

Yup there pretty straight forward, I can get them out in less then an hour on the floor, 20-30 mins. on a lift.
