Default [NJ] Island or Englishtown?

Hey guys,

It been at least a decade since I have been to the track. I stopped going to Englishtown because of all the nonsense with the ricers and idiots racing 83 Crown Victoria station wagons.

I'm getting the bug to take the Vette down the track and was wondering if Island is still OK on Friday nights? How many runs can you get these days?

What/where do you guys suggest?

Thanks for the reply. Did they get their organization straightened out? Used to be that you got 2 maybe 3 runs on a test and tune night.

Like these guys are saying Englishtown is the better of the two. You can typically get a bunch of runs in over at the Island but the prep is usually just ok and the staff and overall track itself is subpar. I recommend Atco since they aren't as tight about things as Etown but either track is certainly better then the Island.

Thanks for the replies so far everyone.

Ive been to Atco, I had my street tires stolen there. They were chained up and when we came back from running all we found was the chain, lol.

BTW, what does "No time available" mean on their schedule?

etown is a better track but im wayyy under 11.5 and im not caged so therefor thats a problem and if you run 11.4 at etown you don't get your slip and you get warned.. their very strict... atco + island are a lot better when it comes to that , so thats why i can only run at atco and i still get yelled at.

Englishtown has better prep but on the right night at Island you can get a dozen runs in an hour, including giving your car some time to cool down. However, track rental at Atco is the best case scenario.

I think "no time" means you can keep them from displaying your time up on the sign if you want to keep it secret.

I like E'town better.

Plus you can race in the Corvette Challenge Drag Racing Series there with lots of other Corvettes. http://www.corvettechallenge.info/whatisit.php

There is no comparison, englishtown. The prep at Island is non existent, but, if you have a 12+ second car, you will be ok. You will get more passes in at Island on a Friday night than englishtown.
