I think it might've actually been a little colder Saturday (though even more wind on Sunday I think) and we were there running all day, I did find traction to be mixed at best though.
I might go back next weekend as well but with my hour & a half drive down I'll also want some solid confirmation that they're going to actually be open.

Well considering this is the time for the -1000 DA days it does kinda suck but the level of cars that actually can run with out dumping into the wall has got to be small, no matter how much prep is laid down.

I make a lil less then 400 and I would be worried if I tried to go ballz out with the stick and the car has overkill suspension work on it as we speak.

Very true...of the 6 passes I made on Saturday I dead hooked on only 2 of them and I'm at only 393rwhp.

Last time I was at Atco was one year ago tomorrow. It started around 30 degrees when we got there for a rental and never got above 45. Eight cars there the whole day so no hot laps to keep the track warm. I actually had my best 60's ever (1.5) with 408rwhp SAE, 4.10s, MN12 T56, 3,650 race weight, stock shocks/springs, and running 16" MT ET Streets with stock 17" SS wheels up front. It's all about how they handle the prep each day. Early in the day it was pretty rough for the first few passes and on one 2-3 shift I do remember sliding straight sideways about 3-4 feet towards the wall.

On a more related note, we had tried to make it down there for this same rental scheduled a few weeks earlier (two cars, four people who took the day off work, just under a 4 hour ride each way). 100% chance of rain predicted the day and night before until I went to bed. No cancellation. Left at 4am and it was raining on and off here in CT. Got partway down there and called. No cancellation. Got closer and called again, no cancellation. Pulled up to the front gate, no one there. Waited a while, finally a guy came out and said it's been raining since he woke up at 6am and there's no way they would be racing in that weather...

I thought my brother was going to strangle the guy. I was just beyond depressed and thought about driving into the barrier on the way home.

It was 30 when we got there but by the time we started running it was upper 30s. They had already cancelled our first date for the rental the day of so I think they were being a bit lenient about a few degrees, especially since it eventually hit 40-45 later in the morning and there wasn't much time left before Christmas (I believe they close up for a month or so in January?). A bunch of us had also driven down almost four hours for the second time since they didn't cancel the first date until we were already there.

It was ****** cold, though. I was the second one to attempt a pass that day and I don't think I went 10 feet. It just blew the tires off sitting there and then let out.

I wish I could be a Track ***** and live that close. Hell I would have to flip a coin to decide if I want to go to Atco or E-town....

Yeah some of us down this way are quite fortunate to have so many tracks somewhat close....E-town is real close to me (roughly 35 miles away) and even Island is only like 45 miles away I think but I never go there.
Atco is a bit further at roughly 75 miles but still a relatively reasonable drive if one is hungry enough to make some passes.

Well I'm very hungry, so if the weather is okay and there open I'm in.
Hope to see a few of you down there!

Atco hardly sucks...some of the quickest tracks on east coast. The track is
faster than E-Town. But it's been going under 32 degrees at night. Although i don't know
if you remember when Joe P., Jay Fisher and i took my '99 SS M6 to Atco in Dec. 2000.
It was only 40 degrees that day, but sunny. Thats when Jay and Joe added ported 853's
and FLP headers only. No tuning and stock LS1 intake and cam. I already had a LM1 with Borla bullet muffer, MTI lid, filter and 4.10's and ran a best of 12.7's or 12.8's its best before Joe's ported 853's and headers. But after a few runs Joe got it down to 12.03 at 115+mph then i ran it and smoked the clutch and got a 12.08. Even Jay was going crazy..lol. Jay shot it on a cam-corder. And hit 11's after the LS6 intake still with stock '99 cam. Those were days Miss all that fun when everything was experimenting. Looking forward to spring already But hang in there hopefully we dont have a winter like last year..lol. TTYL Joel.

Den I was going faster than u back then with my Joe P special
Actually Joe, Tom and Myself had the quickest car at one of the 1st LS Events a E-Town....I remember PSJ was there and was pretty impressed with my WS6...Still IMO Raughammer was the king back then and like me he is a fart in the wind when it comes to racing cars...

Back then 11.60 was fast, now its considered old hat.....I remeber some big guy with a corvette asking me what setups on your car and I said GM, he replied who is that and I said "GENERAL MOTORS" and he got angry cause my cam only setup was faster than his H/C C5

Tommy and I are going tomorrow, ATCO IS GONNA BE 45 and SUNNY...I have my tuning figured out now (I HOPE AS THESE 2010 ECU's BLOW) and I wanna best that Scotty AKA Wheels guys

I hope you beat me buddy because I have the convertor lock up now so I am going to try and make it to the track before I rip my car apart.....just to get my 11 sec time slip
