Default MIR Looking to Hire for Key Official Position

MIR is now taking applications for a "Key Track Official" Position. The "Key Track Official" must enjoy and have a good understanding of drag racing and will be considered part of the management team at MIR, and will have an important role in all the preparation and running of events.

Due to all the training required we are only looking for individuals who can make a long term employment commitment to MIR. This individual must be able to work most or all race days and possibly a day or two during the week throughout the race season (March - November). There may also be some off-season work available as well. This individual must be willing to learn each position at the track including tech, staging and starter and must be capable of operating all track equipment with proper training. This "Key Track Official" must also be able to perform service and small repairs to equipment as needed on race weekends. Pay will be based on experience and availability.

To apply for the "Key Track Official" position, go to mirdrag.com and click on the "Employment" button and fill out an application for a Track Official. In the "Tell Us About Yourself" put down you are applying for the "Key Track Official" position on the first line, and then tell us more about yourself and why you would be a good fit at MIR.

Just FYI, they can be long hours... Sometimes 12-18 hour days, and 2-3 days like that in a row. We are looking for someone that could hopefully be here 5 years, 10 years, or even more. Someone that can be one of the first to arrive on raceday before other staff and help get the event set-up for raceday and one of the last to leave each night after the event has been completed and the end of night checklist has been finished just like Royce and I do.

A person that would fit this bill the most is someone that is either partially retired, or someone that is self employed and sets their own hours so they are flexible enough to work weekends or weekdays at MIR, or someone that has other side money that this position could compliment.

We are looking for someone local for this position that is already in the area. Also this is a part time position (about 20-30 hours a week roughly) not a full time position with benefits. This is an hourly rate track official position.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:14 PM.
