Default Group to help show support for the single license plate laws in MD

https://www.facebook.com/groups/463818250395611/

Little group created to share information and help show the support for the bills to allow no front plate in Maryland.

Please join if you live in MD and spread the word.

The idea being that people will take the information and contact their local representatives and voice their support for these bills. I know we have hundreds of thousands of car enthusiasts in Maryland. And that many people cannot be ignored.

Get anyone else you know who lives in MD. Especially if a registered voter. I am expecting a template letter/email soon. And then I think they will hear us.

I don't live in MD right now but I plan to in the future, and let's face it MD's law requiring a front license plate is ridiculous considering all the PA state cars the drive through MD with only a rear plate.

So a buddy of mine is a Baltimore County Officer and told me that as of the first of the year if your car has no front tag bracket you do NOT need to have a front plate on the car. If you have a bracket you DO need to have a front plate. I will look up the article and subsection when I get the new handbook here at work and scan it so everyone can print it out and keep it in the glovebox.

Looking forward to seeing that Ryan. I have a few BCoPD friends as well, and none know anything about it, so a printout would be helpful for sure.

Is there any support groups, general information, or whatever that are NOT only on Facebook? I retired from the whole Facebook thing, so that's not an option for me.

it is BS allen. I tried calling them on it. You have to affix a front tag in a horizontal manner to the FRONT of the car. Why windshield is still a ticket

While im a car guy and actually dont have front tags on either of my cars, from my work standpoint front plates are utilized a hell of a lot more then most people think. I can honestly see why it isnt a huge issue to get amended.

I looked this up in October, the way the "law" was written was if the car came from the manufacturer with mounting points for a license plate then it needs one, IIRC. I'm not sure if that means dealership or actual manufacturer though lol if that is what it is. Wish I could remember the forum that posted a link to it

EDIT
Here was the pdf I found
http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/2013RS/bills/hb/hb0577f.pdf

some forum links w/ discussion
http://www.crossfireforum.org/forum/...-maryalnd.html
http://www.g8board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100618

According to BMW guys it died out though which makes sense since government resource wasn't updated since 2/19/13

There were two bills. 577 and 642(could be off on this one).

577 was if no mounts from manufacturer. Other was just NO FRONT plates. Both didnt even make it to vote. Died in committee

Why I created this group. Have people reach out and show their representation that we dont want this to die in committee. We want this passed and we want it now.

Only way to do that is to show them. Delegate Elliott takes teh time to put these bills up every year. Lets help him and ourselves.
