Default New to LS1Tech and to NOVA area

Hey everyone,

My name is Matt and I recently moved to the Arlington, VA area about a year ago from NJ. More recently, I've finally got a dream come true, my black 2001 WS6 with camel interior.

I am wondering if there are any F-body groups or meetups around here? T-tops have to come off and cameras have to come out!

Thanks for any info you all may be able to provide,

Matt

I used to hang out with a few people on a local forum but it died quite a while ago and I lost touch with them. I'm just across the bridge not far from National Harbor.

Welcome to NOVA where the traffic is endless! We're going to plan a couple F-Body meets this summer/fall. If you're on FB here's a link

if not, I'll do my best to keep LS1Tech updated as well

Welcome to the traffic induced hell of the DMV.

I also organize a few meets a year. Mostly in MD as I dislike driving in VA.

Welcome to the area! there's car meets around, but it's harder to find the F-body specific ones... I tend to do the ones in VA, because I dislike driving in Maryland

I dislike the **** like cops and forgetting my radar detector in VA. The drivers are no crazier/dumber/more retarded than the people here in MD.

WHy im glad I drive 8 miles on no main roads to get to and from work. And still take back roads to avoid those time to time.

Ill do another one later this summer for sure. More the merrier.

Also Braodview automotive in Warrenton VA hosts some events time to time.

I heard the cops can be pretty bad down here but I haven't had much trouble. I've gotten a few thumbs up actually from some. I only cruise around on the weekend though, never really rip around. I'm sure my luck will run out real quick hah.

Excited to meet up with you guys, glad to see there are more TA's around!

Just remember don't EVER go over 70 on 66, 95 south is a nightmare between 1 and 9pm, and don't go through the ez pass express lanes without the new type of thingy that you can turn off.

Welcome to the land of traffic. I'm in warrenton VA, next to gainesville off 66, work in ashburn.

I'm a transplanted NY'er living in Silver Spring MD with a 99 z28 ragtop. I'm retired so I generally don't have to deal with rush hour madness. Then again, driving in NYC is no bargain either.

Cruisin in OC should be the main event anywhere near here for anyone on this forum.

But as I stated. I organize other meets and cruises here and there.

If you take 66 all the way out, then hit 81 and grab 55 to 48 towards WV, those roads are absolutely gorgeous. Anything like 55, 33, 48, all of those that head out towards the appalacians in WV, its unbelievable how beautiful those rides are.

Good to see more people in the area. It's sad to see so few f-bodies on the road anymore.
