i guess we still wont be pumping our own gas anytime soon

I pump my own so often in New York, that when I'm in New Jersey, I jump out and start to pump my own. The attendants always come running over and take over. I don't see what the big deal is all about.

"Sweeney says there's nothing wrong with the current system and that it's a matter of convenience, not safety."
If im sitting there watching some random person pump fuel in to my car and thinking this guy better not scratch, dent or drip/poor fuel on the 1/4, and wanted to pump it myself in the first place its not very convenient, is it!?

With security at the forefront of our lives in the USA, I'm reluctant to hand my credit card over to a stranger for gas. It's just too easy to take a picture of it with a smart phone. I'm not saying that it happened to me, but it sure can.

Tip someone who pumps gas? F-that. If they want more money they should get a better job.
I'm from Jersey and I hate it beyond words. Waiting for some drooling idiot to come pump my gas is an epic waste of time. It costs a few cents more a gallon, but whenever possible I buy my gas near work, in PA.

I've never heard of tipping the gas attendant... My father had me pumping gas at 15 years old for extra money and no-one tipped me; they expect their change too. Do people in New Jersey tip the Walmart cashier too?

Maybe not walmart but there is a cup in many places to ensure your coffee and donut is made and served to you with perfect skill lol. I have no problem with tipping but im not getting guilted into tipping for that either. I don't live in Jersey so the gas is not an issue for me.
