NEW THIS YEAR, the Town of Ocean City will be classified as a SPECIAL EVENT ZONE during the event. There will be double fines and strict enforcement for speeding, reckless/negligent driving, spinning wheels and alcohol related driving offenses. Also, encouraging drivers to commit traffic violations will not be tolerated. For additional information visit oceancitymd.gov.

Any news on Ocean Downs / Casino?
Pretty sure its just speeding that was covered in the new law. Not the others.

We will be at the Casino, and if we get tossed from there we will go to Walmart. Im updaating posts tonight

If we get tossed from the Casino, this is the back up plan. Same MO, lets try to go unnoticed.

We are starting here. Avoid making a scene or blocking any portion of their entrace. The idea here is to go unnoticed.

CTS, you mention this new law. i no its dumb, but what is the new law we are referring to? can anyone post a link so that we can read what this law states? what ss slp copied is directly from the oc website so in case any of us get into issues with a LEO, i think we should know what the new law says before they try to *** rape us with lies and extra fines that isn't legal. the oc website makes it sound like if u get caught doing a burnout, be ready for heavy heavy fines

thanks. when u click on the "for more questions go to oceancitymd.org" u click it and it doesn't help you.

now being the legal attorney that you are, what is your opinion of the local ordinance that was posted earlier? what you posted just talks about speed? do u think they could legally slap u with a $500 reckless driving/spinning tires violation?

IMHO, I think we should just go to plan B and park in the area across the Home Depot. The Casino is private property.....without their approval, I think parking there may lead to more BS than what it's worth.

And........if you do a deep dive into the new ordinances, it's not worth acting stupid on Coastal Hwy / Baltimore Ave. Is it a pita??? Yeah it is, but we're paying for the stupidity of the ones who don't givva ****.

What happened last year ain't gonna happen again.....no matter what. Spring is especially bad because of the diesel truckers.....T

Don't take this the wrong way, but the way I see it -- we're there to have a good time, and hopefully be cool - and not do what we want because we feel like being a-holes and "screw the cops".

Face it, it's going to get worse with every coming year until they flush everyone who's not registered as part of the Crusin event. This show has grown way beyond what it was originally intended to be.

Here's a link to peruse: https://oceancitymd.gov/oc/departmen.../motor-events/

i may not be interested in going anymore after this year. we will see how it goes. what bothers me is the issues they bring up is **** that happens everyday around the world. they got upset last year, i guess about the guy who was driving a motorcycle who smashed into a truck i think. (something that happens weather there is 1000 cars around or not) and also got upset about the guy getting hit by the cop car. but if the cops hit someone, than i think its clear that the pedestrians are more of an issue than the cars and how they are driven. you put thousand and thousands of people in one place.....no duh some things are goona happen. you can't stop that from happening. im fairly new to this event so can't see how it progressed over the years. i think they need to focus more on the crowds of people gathering if anything. it shouldn't be a free for all. i understand that law enforcement always wants to feel in control, they should, and they like to flex their muscles to show/intimidate others into feeling as if they have one up over us. how many issues have u guys seen over the years that was directly related to speed, racing, or burnouts? everything i have heard seems its related to people not properly crossing the streets.....i have no issues if they wanna cite people for red light racing, excessive speed, block long burnouts.......but the whole reduced speed/double fines things is uncalled for.
