Damn, I swear 11's....

With the help of Slowhawk, Dan D, and My suspension knowledge, I'm committing myself to attain solid 11 second passes w/my stock heads, cam, cast iron stock exhaust manifolded, 3550 raceweight, '02 A4 SOM SS for the '05 race season. I'm at 12.32, 109.3, 1.67 sixty now....WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR '05????? WJ :judge: :burn:

Slowhawk 11-19-2004 08:37 PM

10.0 at 132+mph with Nitto's :burn:

And drive home after ;)

GM Muscle 11-19-2004 08:41 PM

I'd like to see a low 10 next season with the stock shortblock. I've been playing with a 200rwhp shot for the past couple of weeks and everything seems ok. I plan to add H/C, TH400, 9" rear, and a standalone fuel system this winter and then keep my fingers crossed it all holds togethor when spring comes. I just need to go make some money now. :judge:

WJ SOM SS 11-19-2004 08:43 PM

Yes, driving the car home brings almost as much satisfaction as the pass itself....(but I want to do it w/a 10 bolt, so a $350 ramp truck ride may be in my future!!) WJ

ace68 11-19-2004 08:53 PM

I have the same goal as you 11sec. pass with stock motor 01 som hawk I had the same race weight as you on my 12.6 pass. what tires did you run to get a 1.6 60?

I was going to do the sus. over the winter put in a ewp and some 15"et streets but that roll bar rule poped up now I don't know. What gears you going to put in your 10 3-73?

badpewter-z 11-19-2004 10:37 PM

11.6 or lower ill be happy :secret2:

dand35th 11-19-2004 10:41 PM

oh and mine 10.5 NA

WJ SOM SS 11-19-2004 10:58 PM

10.50's here you go.... My car---A $33k car w/$5k worth of A-1 extras, w/only 5500 miles....Still got GM warranty till 5-'05. Can't even get 1 serious buyer at my price of $20k w/all extras. I'll keep it---Will have $10k worth of fun w/it this coming season, then try to sell it for $10k, or tuck it in the garage again.....It puts a smile on my face, I meet good people at the track, it doesn't give me attitude---what was I thinking??? Then again----I've always wanted another '64 Chevelle......Maybe w/a Gen 3 motor.... Dan, maybe we all can do a little bracket racing next summer---write that # on the window & use that tree...... :burn:

dand35th 11-19-2004 11:14 PM

Thats why I don't sell my stuff.. never seems worth it.. If/when I "have to" I will, but I keep it flowing to keep it all.. or at least try.

My84Z 11-19-2004 11:30 PM

Just being able to drive and race without anything breaking would be cool oh and I know little things will break but I mean expensive shit that I have replaces allready.

NA?
You have a converter I assume? My raceweight is roughly 150 pounds less and I'm also an A4 (LS1 intake though) at 12.23@111.03 on a 1.66 sixty foot with stock manifolds and cats as well...I think 11s for either of our cars as they sit is next to impossible. Headers/ORY and/or gears might be a necessity to see an 11.

WJ SOM SS 11-20-2004 07:09 AM

LS1LT1: Yes, I'm running a Vig 3200. Also running no cats w/Mufflex OR pipes to get my 12.32's. I agree w/you, either 3.42's, or probably 3.73's, and a good set of longtubes is probably what it'll take to get me there solidly (11's), but I also still have stock shocks front and rear. Hal's and gears only could POSSIBLY get me there w/another 100 lbs. off the car. Your mph is considerably better than mine..... What do you think? WJ

WJ SOM SS 11-20-2004 07:11 AM

Oh, and no nitrous here. WJ :burn:

WJ SOM SS 11-20-2004 07:15 AM

LS1LT1: Your et's from Englishtown, or Atco? My bests came from New England Dragway.... I run 1/10th slower at Lebanon Valley, NY. NED is just about at sea level....WJ

1RawTA 11-20-2004 10:49 AM

my goals are to get a rear and a fuel system in the car.. and go high-mid 11's. after i achieve that im probally going to go with a cam

davered00ss 11-20-2004 12:39 PM

I'm going for 11's next year. I'm going to concentrate on a clutch & suspention. Then possibly a small cam (LS6?)and LS6 heads.

Krazy98Z28 11-20-2004 12:53 PM

Well my intention was 11's stock internals, but I'm considering cam only now if Keith gives me a good deal on that cam ;).. I plan on a 3350 raceweight or less. I need to figure out my tranny situation and converter cause apparently thats gonna be my next mod not by choice. I've emailed a few sponsors just waiting on reply's. I like the fact that SRA is local. I could always drop my tranny off with them. So now its pretty much picking a converter, I like how you say the Vig 3200 stalls at like 3800, It seems to do very well with you. Some guy just PM'ed me and said he could build me a verter for $450 with a one year warranty.. price sounds great but I know nothing about it. Either way i got til April :)

hoping for real low 11's na and real low 10's or better with 150 shot. The video in my sig was done with the stock clutch and stock firehawk cat back, stock susp. Since then I have done k-member,lower control arms, skinnies up front, spec 3i clutch, x-pipe to 3"dual bullets ,racetronics fuel pump and bigger injectors and a TNT kit that can spray up to a 250 shot.I have some electrical issues I need to work out over the winter.so the car is already into the 11's so 10's are a given with a 150-200 shot of spray, I guess my real goal should be to get into the 9's and run at 100% with no more gremlins getting under the hood.

F-Bobby 11-21-2004 10:41 AM

I hope i can learn how to drive. and get my car to where it should be which is somewhere deep in the 13's with the motor staying exactly how it is. I'm going for mid 13's witht eh car as it is right now but i dont think its gonna happen cause this open dif is killing me. som im thinking Posi, 3.42's and a decent set of drag radials should get me there no problem.
