Thumbs up My worst trip to East Side. rain sucks.

well, in the last couple years, i have been making the 2+ hour trip to ESP on a regular basis. I havent had a problem doing it, as a matter of fact, i usualy look forward to the trip because it seems every time i go i do somthing fun, and have a great time, weather its working on my car, helping out (not that i do much) listening t the red car looking at customers cars, ridding, ect ect ect. but this saturday was the worst trip yet!
starts like this, a little to much friday night, wake up 7 am get reddy with a buzz on (lol) go outside to RAIN, hard rain!!! get in the truck, and start driving. it was raining sooo hard, i was cruzzin at between 20-60 mph depending on the person in front of me, my usual 2 hour ride took 3+ hours
then worked on the car with ken, we got alot done!!!!! (thanks for all the help Ken) we got 99% of the dash in, and the intake all setup and on the car, all the old wiring out, all setup and getting closer.
then to kens for a Great dinner cooked by Denise (aka Mrs.OSR1) and then a fresh cake!!!!! then hung out till about 10pm, all the while, its still raining, but now the wind is up to around 1,000 MPH
so i leave, start home, falling asleep and the wind is dragging me across 2 lanes at a time raining like mad, cruzzin home around 45-55 mph! getting home at almost 1 am.
the day was great, got alot done and had a great lunch lol, but the ride! man it was the worst one ever

next time im brinning cloths just in case, i wish i stayed, matter of fact, i almost pulled over and grabed a hotel, but i didnt have my teddy bear
anyway. thanks to denise for a great dinner!!! and to the guys for the help with the car. cant wait till the rain stops so we can race!!

she'll be on the street. not much, but a little. you dont believe me, it realy isnt all that bad, i have driven my 72 for years with 4:10's out back. with 3:73 and a 28" tire she's not bad.

she should be ready to run in about 1-2 weeks. depending how much time we can spend on it. id like to be racing not this weekend but next, or the following at worst.
it probably wont need a chute yet, the setup is staying the same, i just lightend the load, and set up the suspention a little.
my 9.9 was with a 1.6 60' with the fuel pump failing, at 3500 pounds and a 2 tenth delay in the timmer. my last trip to the track we got to hook a 1.4 befor the driveshaft broke, i fixed the fuel pump situation, and she is about 200-300 pounds lighter.
so my math says 1.6 60' to a 1.4 is worth atleast 1 tenth, the fuel pump cutting out worth atleast 1 tenth, and the 200-300 pounds is atleast 2 tenths, so 4 tenths from a 9.9 is a 9.5 with a 200 shot. then up it to a 300 and 9.4 or faster should be right there. but im working on the 9.5 zone this spring/summer

my minimum weight for the ls1 tech series is 3250lbs, i will be racing 1 or 2 of these this year, but i made that weight my goal, so i hope to make it by the september race. right now i should be between 3250-3350 but i still have a few things that can lighten my load if need be. that stuff will eventualy come out and i may need to sand bag for ls1 tech events.
Whip, this was the first time i thought i was going to bed behind the wheel. it was bad. the day was fine, but the drive sucked. i hung my head out in the wind and rain a couple times to wake up. not good. next time im not even going to try it. it was kind of stupid. i was so tired even befor i left i should have done it, but oh well, its done now, but not again. im not tring it again if im tired

Glad you made it out of that one ok. I've had a couple of sleepy rides myself, the ones where you wish you hadn't driven when you get about 45-30 minutes from where you're going, haha

Haha its not white with a blue frame but maybe something along those lines. Well part of its for you part for timmy.

Whenever you need it made lemme know i'll get them the number. Maybe we can get the Benz up there. I gotta see how they amde out checkin on the other parts fot it. (dash trim) I was just up there last week. They got a big ole caddy in there now and a roadster coming in after that so they wont be free till at least end of may/june anyway. Only like to work at one car at a time.

haha yeah i wouldnt worry about the benz. Most of the stuff for it is only out of a catalog so it wouldnt make a difference if you brought it up there now or 6 months from now.

Right now i am in class but i'll call you after i get out. I'll give you your gift all right.
