Bone Stock GTO times!!!!!!
Went to Atco today with the GTO...
Totally stock including paper filter and 151 miles on the odometer
1 Run 14.47@100.97
2 Run 14.25@101.13
3 Run 14.07@101.48
Cars very hard to launch,if u come out too hard it spins and to soft and it doesnt ET....I figured out the launch by the 4th run and here is the results..
4 Run 13.98@101.24
5 Run 13.91@101.12
6 Run 13.92@101.21
I weigh around 365lbs,IMO the cars about 4200lbs with me in it but I'll get an exact weight soon...I was VERY IMPRESSED with theses times for a BONE stock A4 in 63 degree air and 150 miles on the clock
So then we tested the KN Cold Air kit...
Results
1 Run 13.96@102
2 Run 13.90@101.89
3 Run 13.93@102.64
4 Run 13.85@102.42
5 Run 13.78@102.69 BEST MPH
6 Run 13.77@102.29 BEST ET
I was VERY HAPPY with these results and all the runs were made hot lapping for 3 runs and then cooling down...The IAT did read hotter temps but not dramatically and the timing was being pulled 2 degrees at times but the car showed no KR and it pulled alot harder with the KN kit...
The car picked up on average about .12ET/1.2 MPH
IMO the KN is worth about 12 to 15 HP and IMO thats pretty good.
If Slowhawk was there to tune the car I believe it couldve went 13.50's@105+ and I will be testing that idea real soon
I am soooooo happy with this car,It does EVERYTHING well. Thanks to Matt and George for the Rental Day it was fun and they are great guys.

Those cars are so cool for all that they can do (ie: awedome interior/comfort/handling/braking/power etc.). Good job.

Wow, for that weight the LS1 is doing more than expected!
Like you said, have Don tune it up and run it with just the CAI. Wow man. 4200 pounds too. I'm light, I wonder, I just wonder if I could muster a 13.30 out of the car between my body weight, Don's tune and a CAI.
Just think of what your car would do with a very mild setup that could still get a sticker (stall, headers w/cats, a 220 cam and some 555R's! ) We all know auto's respond to bolt ons.

Very nice Joel....
My issue with the cold-air kits on the GTO is they seem to show some initial gains, then its basically 'learned out' by the computer. I'm curious to see if that happens with your car. As I'm sure you have figured out by now, the GTO forums are pretty horrible, very little real knowledge on there.
I'd love to grab a K&N cold-air IF I knew it was really going to help. Any thoughts on this?
Also, will Kooks work with the stock cat-back? That seems like it could be a nice set-up.
What size convertor are you looking to get? I would like something that I won't need to run a serious tire with, perhaps a Vig 2800 or Vig 3200. What do you think?
You've got me thinking....Vig 2800 convertor, headers, cold-air, pulley would get into the high 12s for sure....
