I'm in northern jersey, as far north as you can get ... 2 minutes walking away from GWB (george washington bridge.. connects nj to ny)
what race tracks around here are well prepped and not too far away?
englishtown is about 50 miles away (but with traffic here, its about 3 hours)..
anything closer ?

Atco gives the bragging right times, but Englishtown is more professionaly run, and a NHRA National Event is run there every year. Nice to say you've run on a track where the best in the sport run every year.... WJ

Pretty much what he said.
I personally like Atco better but I'm biased since I grew up in that area. E-town is a nice, clean track but I feel more at home at Atco

Yeah and because of them I didn't get to get my last run in and try to break into the 12's
The first part of the night went smooth, then the imports started breaking **** at the end of the night(though I think a Cobra blew up too).
Oh well.

Hey Man if your from Fort Lee, best bet is Etown or Island. Im only about a 15 minute drive from the GWB and the City, and Ive always gone to E-town, just jump on the turnpike south and cross over to the parkway, and its really dam close. Island is probably the same distance for you, but you would take turnpike south to rt. 80 N.

atco is the track to go when you really wanna set kick *** #s....... etown is a beautiful track...but do its popularity they dont prep the track as much, too many street cars rip up the track... ...where atco preps very well and people hook there like crazy...
i have a best 60ft of like 1.69 at etown(on a street night) and atco my car has gone 1.53 60ft(at a track rental)

I like Etown, I noticed just recently that they are really enforcing making the street cars go around the water box so they don't screw up the track. They only let you go through with slicks, or my big *** MT drag radials.
I like Atco for a track rental but other than that I wouldn't make the trip.
What's good about Atco is that, and correct me if I'm wrong, you get like a 2 tenths spot over Etown. Something about the air or something.

Atco, E-town, Cecil, and MIR (which is on the eastern shore of MD) are all within about 100 ft of each other (without looking it up that is). Cecil is exactly 300 ft above sea level. Hell, 2~3 miles away, and you're in the Chesapeake Bay.
