Default Lakewood DSL help asap*

Well i got the loop on the car with the FLP headers and a flowmaster collector by dropping the exhaust off of the headers. Now when I go to tighten the exhaust up it rubs on either side of the collector on the cross brace of the loop.

Is there any easy way to fix this without having to get it rewelded up so it can hang a little lower. If I can somehow angle the exhaust from the headers back about 1/2 inch so I can get more clearance.

What DSL is everyone else using with LT's?

hmmm would some header wrap solve the problem? I just dont want it to be sending out a false knock somehow.

What about some shims or washers under the loop?

If anything i would have to raise the loop away from the exhaust, it bends over it, and then the driveshaft would be hitting the loop.

That's exactly what I did with my true duals. My x-pipe sits tight up against the loop so I wraped the loop and x-pipe both with header wrap. It actually worked out for the better in my case. My front pipes used to bang the floor at idle and on decel but, now that the x-pipe is up tight the exhaust doesn't move all around and bang the floor.

However, if it's not tight and is going to be banging all the time your might want to look at something thicker than header wrap. Maybe turbo wrap or something.

Yea if I cant get the pipes to sit any lower tomorrow, ill be throwing on some thicker wrap around it and keep it tight. The pipe is sitting right on the loop so it wont take much to hold it tight.

If the exhaust is wedged against the DS loop then more than likely the header connection will start leaking from the stress.Lakewood loop's don't work with FLP's too well.

Yea, its not really wedged in there real tight, it had about 1/8 inch clearance on the drivers side.

What DSL works best with FLP's?
