Default doing better... but something always has to get in the way

I went to LVD today for T&T. I am doing much better. Cut my reaction time to .100 (much better than my previous 1.2ish r/ts). Shifting is getting there, still hitting the rev limiter all the time but im adjusting my shift light to avoid this. Launches suck, but i finally pulled under a 2 doing a 1.981 60 ft (slowly learning how to avoid tire spin). Of course on that run i missed 4th should have been a low 12 sec run but instead was a 13.9 at 77mph. So i went to make 1 last run before going to work and i was angry and ready, so i do a decent burnout, had my friend taping it and to the lights, as soon as that last yellow came i dropped the clutch, somewhere between 4000 and 5000 rpms and boom . I'll get pics up later, but i put the stock driveshaft to bed. Thank god for the loop, and thank god I bought AAA plus less than 2 weeks ago. they cover towing up to 100 miles and my house was 95.4 miles from LVD...
I am running out of parts to break on this car, so by next summer when the tranny is fixed up a little i should be able to do some serious launches

I think mine still has the stock drive shaft. Then again now you have me wondering. Maybe it was changed before I bought it. I've cut 1.6 short times and never broken it. Keep at it though, you will dial it in.-Fred

I broke mine in 2 also. It'll get better, don't worry. Just stick with it and congrats on your first sub 2. 60 ft.

Where did it break? center, towards the front, rear?
Did it do any other damage on the way out?

we won't talk about my best time but it keeps getting better everytime i go. my launch and shifting are taking away so much from my et. i was a lot more focused on launching and not hitting the rev limiter and my reaction time, just trying to practice. the ds broke to the front. i took it out everything looks fine from what i could see last nite

did you break a 3 inch aluminum Driveshaft? or an iron one? and was it the yoke, the u joint, or the shaft it self.

aww boo to that!! Don't worry, you'll get there sooner or later, it just takes time.

I wpudn't even worry about the reaction time unless you're actually racing someone. That just distracts from the launch, for me at least. Just work on the launch and shifting and you'll be there in no time!! And once you have that dialed in, you can get the reaction time down!

the carbon fiber one is the wrong yoke.. but thanks dave

I honestly think i weakened the DS when i broke the TA. then the launch put it to bed. i was just reading and i wasn't aware that even a ding in the DS from a rock can weaken or destroy it and the ds had some scars on it from banging when i broke the ta.. that was my ignorance. oh well
