The car is a Twin Turbo so the glide is an obvious choice.
They would have been stupid to install anything else?

Obviously the stock rear setup can't handle that abuse. Seriously, the factory parts are gone and I'm sure there will be quite a few vettes (and f bodies) that can corner better than Paul's vette but it's still a Z06. Ya can't just take the name away from the car.
It's a Z06, it's Paul's badd-*** 8 second Z06.
