Default Went to get some oil today.

Mobil 1 went from $4.22/qt to $5.88/qt at Wall-Mart. 5qt bottle is still $20.77 though. Normally buy 1 of each for an oil change. Just have to buy multiple 5qt bottles.

Holy Geez. I know Amsoil is also raising prices Oct 1 but for the 0w-30 it is only going up $.05 per qt. Not a buck and a half. The average Amsoil increase I am seeing is about $.15 per qt. This oil price business is going crazy.

I mean, come on.

What's a barrell? 44 gallons or something? Thats 176 quarts. Even if 100% of the cost was raw material, its only 6 cents extra for every $10 increase in oil.

I think the gov. of Wisconsin was all over this last week.

And synthetic? How much real oil does that even use per quart?

Mobil 1 should be maybe 15 cents more per quart. Thats it.

Full synthetic is supposed to be just that, fully synthetic, no dyno juice.
Blneds are usually 5% synthetic & 95% dyno juice.

M1 has always been absurdly higher than other synthetic brands because they know they are usually considered "the best" & people want & use it so they do what they want.

You must have misread what I wrote.
Synthetic is not made from dyno juice & blends are mixed with dyno juice.
