Default so i guess they are sending me overseas, just not where i expected...

ya well because they couldnt send me to afganistan they are sending me to another overseas location and its not iraq..... so they are sending me to Germany..... and i couldnt be happier i got transfered from my infantry unit to a new MP unit they are forming to go to germany without me knowing it. go figure, so i wasnt all that surprised when they called me last week and asked me why i missed drill the past weekend we are going to be on a roaming mission from post to post so i dont know exactly which base i will be at, but i do know that my job will be as the MP's on post. i leave for Ft Lost in the Woods (Leonard Wood) Missouri feb 9th for MP school for 5 weeks.woopy back to my basic training hellhole then around April will hit the ground in Germany for 12 months. kinda sucks seeing as my enlistment ends in early march, but they are gonna let me reenlist before we go so i can get my bonus and the deployment time will count on my new enlistment. also should get my promotion to E6/SSG while i am there. will look good on my resume when i get home seeing as i want to be a cop. sucks that i will miss next season, but at least i will pay all my bills off and have a nice chunk of change when i get home

One of my co workers nephews was stationed over in Germany. He really liked it over there, I guess he got to do a good bit of travaling in Europe. They moved him to Iraq though so it kinda sucks for him now.

Best of luck. The German women and some of the Benz's are hot over there, so I am told from friends..... You'll definitely have some good times in Germany. WJ

And fuel costs!!!! We have a german guy that posts on our Lightning forums...it costs like the equivilant of 200 bucks to fill the tank!!! ON the plus side, he sent us vids of cruisin' on the autobahn, speedo buried (I think he said 160+ on the GPS) Just cruisin' through traffic with other cars going not much slower!!!!!!

i was talking to a few guys that have been to germany before at drill today, had to drill with my old company to make up for the days that i lost from the supposed missed drill, got a quick german lesson, cant say i remember it. but i do learn quickly. it really sucked hardcore seeing all my buddies packing all their **** up to get ready to get sent off to afganistan... hard times. its like a kick to the nuts not being able to go with them, with my troops...

I spent 24 months in Germany, guarding borders that aren't even there no more!

If you buy a car, they will ship it back no charge..

PS- I was in FT Leonard Wood also (Basic) where I got ticks, lice, and pneumonia.. not my favorite base.

Good luck in Germany. My Dad was stationed in Germany during Vietnam and both of my brothers were born over there. My Dad used to do the calibrations for the electronic equipment in the 'coptors. From what I understand, Germany is a really cool country.

Best of luck, and God Bless. Above all else, thank you for serving and protecting our country.
