Default FS: 1.01ct Diamond Ring - A STEAL - GORGEOUS

Mods, please don't delete this post... want local people to see it.

Can be seen in person, currently on eBay but make an offer if you are interested. Appraised over 10K will sell for less than half of that!

Will also accept partial trade of 9" rear... seriously!

Could be worse.. you could have gave it to her, and she could be refusing to give it back.

if you put this up about 2 years earlier, I would have been intrested.

I'd try to take it back to wherever you bought it from, tell them that she didn't want it, and go in all weepy eyed, they might, just might give you your money back. Maybe not 100%, but I'm guessing that you'd do better then 1/2 of it, probably closer to 90%. I know someone that had that happen to him, and he got 8200 back on a ring that he spent 9000 on... probably worth a try.

Tired bringing it back, tried the pawn shop, etc... I bought it back in 2001 and just kept it thinking I would use it eventually.

Common, someone hook up and get married, everyone is doin it!

You've had it for a while... scratch the bringing it back. Unless you are strapped for cash, I'd hang on to it.

It's bad luck to give a woman a diamond that you bought for someone else. Think about it....You wouldn't want someone doing it to you if it were a custom for women to give men a engagement ring. There are plenty of small business independent jewelers out there who would give you a fair price for the ring, if it is of A-1 quality. Actually, I know a jeweler in Worcester, Ma. who would give you a fair amount for the ring, if, in fact, the quality is there. If you care to PM me, I'll give you his name and store address. It sucks to have happen, what happened to you....Just remember--everything happens for a reason. Best wishes. WJ

very good words of advice WJ. In my opinion, if I ever found out a ring my man gave me was originally for another girl, I wouldn't accept it.

Basically my thoughts, I'm not giving another girl this same ring, I would feel horrible (for about 10 minutes).

Ain't that the truth. Too bad my girl wants a sapphire ring even though I am kind of against a sapphire because I am more traditional.

It's not really regifting..... how is anyone to ever know that you bought originally for someone else? If the other girl never saw it or put it on, then I say it wasn't bought for her LOL. It was only bought for her if she actually had it on or saw/knew about it.

PM'ed you w/jeweler's name, addy, and phone #. Like Steph says, re-ringing is not the way to go. A woman ALWAYS finds out somehow....sizing, etc. becomes a problem. You start making excuses and lying to her questions, and next thing you know you're caught, and in deep **** w/her, plus she'll NEVER trust you again....Sell the ring, take a little bit of a hit. Then you can forget the BITCH and the ring..... WJ
