Default blew my motor with nitrous

i guess i knew it was a bad idea from the start...but i had done a lot of reading and was told that if i run 100 shot that i should be ok ....i hooked it all up perfectly went over it twice..had my friend go over it...all looked good...i worked my way up with the pills...worked great with a 50 and 75....then when i put the 100 in i hit at like 40 just above 3000 and i heard a clanking and something blew out the side ( i assume) oil poured out and now i have it towed home.. well im in the market for a new block and wat ever else i broke...anyone got any suggestions or ideas...and tryin to find a cheap car for now...say i get a new block and parts..how hard/long would it take to change in my driveway if possible ??? any info/help is much apreciated ... thanx

Dry or wet? if dry did you shoot in front of the maf? cause a 100 shot should be easy on a stock ride.

How many miles did you have on the motor before you hooked up the nitrous?

Well, you learned an important lesson. The fuel system couldn't keep up.Your motor could also be hurt alittle before the shot and the juice just took it out.

yup, im also not a huge fan of dry shots, in my eyes a wet just seems a little bit safer. good luck getting the car back together

I got rid of my nitrous shortly after I split my driveshaft in 1/2 an cracked the trans on a nitrous launch. Can't afford the repairs so I ditched it.

if it blew at 3000 rpm, when did you hit it?

if you need used stock parts, let me know. i have rods and a crank i will get rid of them real cheep if it will help you out.
good luck.

ps, a good set of pistons, a fuel pump, and a good tune, 100-150 shot will be easy!

Sorry to hear that,

I was lucky enough to escape with no damage after I had a wet kit on my car [75shot] for about a year.

Just another reason why, even though Nitrous is so tempting because it is the cheapest way to go fast, it will never again touch my car.

Good Luck!

Nitrous can be very safe if you have enough fuel, good tune and the right safety's. I ran a TNT wet shot on my Hawk when it had 800 miles on the car.Went through 15 bottles in 2 months.Car made 460hp 560tq.

Kind of funny though.Back then I ran Nitrous and Noyzee was going Turbo

That sux man.

I would think a good running fuel system could support a 100 shot w/ bolt ons. Something must of been wrong. I'm sure one day I'll spray her (wet), you better beleive I'll have Don keeping tabs on her on those 1st few pulls

I guess now it's time for you to think BIG.

Were you on stock plugs should be running NGK TR6's.any saftey switchs like fpss or a/f guage in or on the car to see if it went lean.Don't i think would be a fuel problem as i sprayed 100hp which is 80rwhp on smaller 26.6 injectors stock fuel system.Just some things to think about

Swap should take 2 days and can be done in your driveway. Pull it from the top.
