Well ive got a stock gear set 2:73 but that prob wont fit and I wouldnt recommend a gear set used its hard to match it back up again. And ive got a set of 3.73's brand spanking new never installed I bought the wrong carrier size and never got around to returning it I believe its for a 3series, right if my stock was 2.73 that would mean I woulda needed a gear set for a 2 series right and I bought the wrong one so... yeah I think its a 3 series. The gear is from SLP if your still looking.
They sell for $247 I think it was more when I bought it but oh well ill do $150 shipped if that sounds good. Pm me if interested its sitting on my bench downstairs. waiting to be used.

I have the entire stock 10 bolt out of my car, it had about 13K on it if you want the whole thign. Axles are out and the 4 channel stuff has been robbed out of it, but the gearset, posi and axles are all good. If you want it, let me know.. it's sitting in my fathers' shed and I just want it out of there.

I dunno, make me an offer. I want the whole thing gone though. Do a search on here, see what stock 10 bolts are going for and lemme know, I'll work with you.

So basically the 4.10's for the stock 10 bolt are obviously brittle and have a reputation for not lasting long.

Are other 12 bolt or 9 inch 4.10 gears a lot stronger?

no, Lol. Unfortunately, because of the higher ratio, there will be more teeth on the ring. This is the reason that the individual teeth break off-theyre smaller in thickness than their stock counterparts. Im going to a 373 set now, Hopefully these hold up well

Yes, 100% better. It's the diameter of the ring gear that dcides the # of teeth, going to a 12 bolt or 9 inch will allow pretty much any ratio to be used.. look in a summit catalog, they sell stuff with ratio's into the 6.x range, if it wasn't strong enough, they wouldn't sell it.
