It's Official. .. .FI inside!

Well, no one asked in any of the other threads I posted in which I dropped hints but it doesn't matter much anyway. I went ahead and did it again!! Forced Induction just prior to the season's end, as I did with my Trans Am and STS Turbo! This time it's a little bit different!! :)

Started with all this:

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y25...charger2-1.jpg

And ended up with this:

Items you may not or cannot see include: Fluidampr harmonic balancer pulley, (9psi) 4.5 inch blower pulley, 42lb SVO Injectors, and Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump. I am probably forgetting some things but owell . .. . Just awaiting the delivery of my boost gauge, Fuel pressure gauge and gauge pod, then a tune hopefully this week if Mr. Kinder can fit me in??

I would love to know why you didn't get the stuff through me?I can beat anyone's price, but atleast I get kicked in the nuts to tune it :buttkick:

Speedy0009 Oct 21, 2006 04:55 PM

I got it through a private sale from LS1GTO.com. A man in Ohio was changing his set-up after 3K miles of use. I got the enitre kit/set-up saving about $2000 including shipping. I have all/most reciepts and paperwork from him including his dyno sheet and what he paid for tuning at LS1 Source! I pretty much got the $450 Fluidampr, $200 CF radiaor shroud, $250 Kenne Bell BAP, $300 Lucas 42lb injectors, extra belts, extra oil, $80 smaller blower pulley as well as his modified factory hoses and heat shield ALL for free with the price of the D-1 kit. If you could beat $4200 with all the those extras I think you'd be losing a ton of money.

But yes I would like to set a day this week if possible to tune the car (Tuesday I'll be at a hearing for my Trans Am Accident). . . the only things are I don't have the boost gauge, fuel pressure gauge yet, nor have I bought a wideband. What do you think??

Lucky to get a great deal yes. You have an SS not a GTO though

Getting sick of it would mean I have to use/drive it, which I won't do just yet due to no tune or any idea of boost or fuel pressure!! Chances are if I did sell it at some point, I'd want more than what I paid for it!! Simply because I like money :emb: !

Looks good todd. I read your other threads hinting so I looked at your sig and seen no changes so I jsut figured you were posting to pass time haha. Congrats, I know you have wanted this for a while now.

Slowhawk Oct 21, 2006 05:56 PM

LOL,I think you should get a boost gauge first. Also the 42's aren't going to take the power-I think.

Slowhawk Oct 21, 2006 05:59 PM

Also,I need the car dropped off. It's not a wait around tune.

davered00ss Oct 21, 2006 06:12 PM

So that's why you were  poverty. :jest: Can't wait to see the #'s and see it run. You gonna beat 13's now. :engarde:

davered00ss Oct 21, 2006 06:13 PM

I'm just jellous, because I want a procharger. :)

Oh, man are you saying I will need 60lbers?? Well, I guess I will see what the 42lbers will do, at what duty cycle, then go from there! I have read there are some LS1 GTOs, making 480-505hp with 42s (maybe not efficiently)? Ok, I can drop the car off as well. Problem is, I have no idea when the guages will be here, but the Pod is due Friday!! So I assume the gauges will be here earlier! Oh, yeah. .. . I'll also need pricing for the tuning. PM me with a great deal please. . . :hail:

Thanks Josh!

awsome, i love the gto's and great color too :)

can go wrong with 60lb'ers....protect your investment....and by the way it looks a lot better on yours than it does on my car :(

The problem with 42's is that the fuel pressure drops due to the crappy GTO fuel system which in this cold weather can be alittle dangerous. The 60's will hold a better tune.Boost will dictate the timing I run.It can be dropped off anytime next week or whenever.I will not be at the shop wed. though. The $$ will be the same as before which will total the ussual tune price.

Even with a Boost-a-pump? I thought they helped with the increase of pump voltage? If not, well I don't drive the car all winter, so that will give me some time! I suppose time will tell. :lurk:

If need be I'll just sell the two sets of 42lbers and buy a set of 60s, maybe a Walbro 255 or LPE pump with the possibility of a 8.1L Bucket mod! I'm not going to run a cam for a while in which case those mods would(should) supply plenty of fuel for that little D-1... with a stock bottom end!! For now 475-495rwhp would suit me just plenty, but will settle for a safe tune and 465ish! :judge:

8ALTNG Oct 22, 2006 03:16 PM

need some 60lb injectors :lurk:

Looks Like I'll be in the market for some!! Got some lying around you're looking to sell with low mileage/usage (I'm sure your using bigger than that with your current set-up Still STS?)?? PM me if so or have a suggestion! Price depending I might as well get them out of the way and upgrade the rest of fuel system later, right?? More Fuel + More ProCharge(boost) = More power and eventually :bomb: but the more fuel will protect it longer. .. . :hail:

I can't wait to get on it already!! Where are my gauges!! :bang:

Z28_Ninja Oct 22, 2006 08:47 PM

looks like a nice setup todd, cant wait to see what it can do and what it puts down. congrats on a great set-up

badpewter-z Oct 22, 2006 08:57 PM

Joe "Preachers Sheets" DIESO Oct 22, 2006 10:43 PM
