lots of great suggestions, and i'd love to do alot fo the things you guys mentioned..velles, old camaro, old firebird..the biggest problem is either finding a car local and that isn't totally wasted...or affording said car..
BUT
an old friend of mine who i had watching for a 76 formula for me...happened go pick up 2 68 firebirds recently..and one has drivetrain sitting next to it...PERFECT!!
so i talked to him yesterday and made a deal to pick up the roller for 1500, subframe has been gone over and painted with all new bushings and such
i'll try getting pics asap..it'll be abit before i actually pick the car up and all..but i'm in no hurry with the cold hitting..just glad i found something

1st or 2nd gen T/A or Camaro. Friend of mine has a 79 T/A with LS1/T56 and mine is currently in the works. You don't really need to buy a kit, either. Just need to fabricate some motor mount brackets and ditch the AC (or you can notch the crossmember or go with a diff AC mounting setup).
