I'm so fat.. I can only see the tip of my pee-pee and my toes. http://www.yikers.com/video_fat_guy_..._for_audi.html Now- my daughter (the cheerleader) and my wife (Italian who *taught* me to mangia-mangia) said it's time for a change. They recommend: http://www.beachbody.com/jump.jsp?it...RY&path=1,2,21 I dunno.. this is officially a cry for help.. :) |
yeah man, i just went thru the same thing. I have lost 20lbs over the last 2 months doing my version of the Atkins diet. My biggest problem is I need to be consistant at the gym. whatever route you go, stick with it. I think Purevl should post up his pre competition diet. Clearly a bodybuilders diet works very well. some of those guys get down to 1% bodyfat. :eek2: |
stick to carbs only on weekends that should help |
Eating.... Yummmmmmm Every three hours or so for me! |
Did the Atkins thing for 2 weeks and lost 7 lbs (diet only). I'm pushing 220, but I'd like to be 200. I need to get running or something. |

Atkins diet sucks, or at least the way that most people do it. Cutting out bad carbs is always a good thing (white bread, processed sugars, white pasta, regular soda, etc), however most people cut all carbs out. I did the atkins and although i lost weight I was always so tired and never really wanted to lift so I lost muscle along with fat. Now I only really eat good carbs (vegetables, oatmeal, whole grain breads and cereals, etc) and I have way more energy in the gym and have been able to add weight but keep my body fat around 8-9%. I wouldnt concentrate on losing weight but rather how your body looks. Try circuit training if you want to get more defined and mix in about 20-25 mins of hard interval cardio about 3 times a week and you will be happy with the results. Im 6'8 260 right now and I look way better than I did at 6'8 225. |
I agree with that. They were the worst 2 weeks of my life. The key is excersize, that's what I need more of. The cushy office job put a good 20lbs on me in a few years. |
Just have to find what works for you. The atkins diet works for a lot of people, and some modify it also. I've been thinking of trying that nutrisystem on the TV to get ride of about 20 lbs I gain since our newborn came into them picture. The downside to a low carb diet is the carb to protein ratio. It can be VERY hard on your liver, and you'll most likely have the squirts constantly. My father was on a low carb diet for years and he only maintained his weight. Eventually he had problems with his liver and had to stop it. He switched to the Weight watchers point system diet and went from over 210 to 155 in 6 months. |
Well, I couldn't help myself. I had to watch that stupid "Fat Guy" video. And OH MY GOD!! That was freakin' funny. Hopefully you guys on here aren't that fat. I walk on treadmill sometimes, and use an Ab-lounger. Thats the limit for me. Also my chorlestoral was higher, doc told me to watch what I eat. I ate mostly veggies and cottage cheese and fruit for 2 weeks, lost 10lbs. Not bad bad for a white girl, huh!! :jest: |

Yea as long as your getting exercise through both weight training and some high intensity cardio I wouldnt worry about the scale. Im in the same boat though with work. Im stuck at my desk all day monitoring mutual funds and hedge funds and I work about 50 hours a week plus commute to Boston from Worcester and its hard finding time to exercise but I just got on a steady routine and I know as soon as I get home from work that I have to go to the gym for at least an hour and once I got used to it its easy now. |

I totally agree, you need to find a good mix thats right for you. A lot of people do the modified atkins and works well for them. As for the nutrisystem plan and weight watchers they both work real well, just the food gets expensive. They def produce results though if you stick to the plans. |
my version of the atkins is i don't eat shit carbs but i have no issues eating fruits/vegs etc. Also, 2-3 servings per day of sugar free smooth texture metamucil will solve the problem of being regular. but drink alot of water so it doesn't turn to cement, lol |
