Yeah it can be a real hassle searching for the right car, it's either too far away or it's local but they're asking too much money etc.
Keep looking man, your car will show up eventually.

I'm flying all the way to Tampa, FL on saturday to pick up my new car. I looked around here a little, but everything was more $$$$ than I was willing to pay or it was abused. Found an '01 Z28 with 40k miles for $9200 in Florida... I figured for the right car/price it's worth the 1400 mile drive.

When searching for a very specific combonation, be prepared to wait, or be willing to travel. I only had a 2 ish hour ride :D

I can't believe you have your 8 second SS that your trying to sell and then you go buy a stock Z28. If I had your money I would burn mine

i bought my firehawk from a guy in oregon! found it on firehawk.org

if you are looking for something very specific, you might have to look far.

are you going to drive this year round or garage it in the winter? if you are not going to drive it year round, you actually might be better off buying a car that was not a daily driver in an area where rust is a problem.

JS Mar 30, 2007 08:25 AM

I'm not going to drive it yr round...
I wanna car with under 20K and actually under 15K it poss.

A loaded up Hawk is hard to find at a dealer but I wanna GM certified or something to that effect..

I found the car but waited to long to go look at it..
01 WS6 NBM w/7K on it,I shouldve been on that like a rat to cheese.

I'll tell ya for the $$$ a 02 Hawk with all the SLP options is a good investment,U figure u dont need to buy an exhaust, lid or sups parts...All that I'd need is a verter a tune and few other goodies and I'd have a nice low 12 Sec street car that SHOULD hold its value...

I'll keep my eye out,I will find the car...

js, did you check out a higher class magizine like dupont or hemmings motor? they have alot of cars like you are looking for. im sure nothing in your back yard, but someplace.

no interest in a black hawk, white leather, white top slp loaded 6 speed? prob about 10k miles.

JasonShort Mar 30, 2007 08:42 AM

You gotta be willing to sacrifice something when looking for a specific car.....either pay more for the car itself, pay the cost of shipping/travel, etc....

I bought one of my cars from a couple in Arizona.....they drove it to Dallas, I flew to Texas and drove it home.

It can be frustrating, but that's just how it goes with this game.

If you're buying an f-body for a "hold-and-keep" investment- forget it.

I've been watching the auctions in Palm Beach and MINT cars are going for like 26 to 29 K.. and they are bonafide classics. If it has rubber bumpers- it's not gonna bring the bucks.
