Surprised you're only going 427 with it... but the ability to go that big, and still rebuild it a ton of times is probably worth it.

thats a big part of it. say i decide to run a number again and burn a pistion or somthin, if i go max right off. throw it out.
427 short strock will be a good power spot im sure.

I agree with your thinking 110% leaving no room for rebuilds on a 2000 dollar block, not so smart. it's one thing to do that on a 950 dollar block that is readily available, but to do it on a not so easy block to get... bad bad idea.

But, seeing as you're starting from scratch with everything, I'd have gone with a 4.25 stroke and a 4.125 bore, and get some more out of it.. the parts wouldn't have cost any more to get for that then they did for a 427.

Doesn't matter though, you shoudl be able to make at least 500 rwhp with a 427 nitrous motor with a motor tune in it... which in your car should be about enough to run the 9.5 index.

it would have cost more to go bigger on the crank. i already had the 4" i dont have the coin to go bigger im even sticking with last years cam hoping to go solid roller soon, but again, coin is key.

plus the short strock with the solid roller will be insain!

Once I am done with street use with the car, which I suspect will be after this summer, I'm gonna put a BIG set of headers on with hvmc's and probably a set of xr1 mufflers on after the collector, and that will be it. Probably make another 15 rwhp doing that.
