I was at Dave's today for the initial start up and the car sounded good. Now all he needs to do is pick up some new injectors and hit the dyno.

lomaximumta Apr 29, 2007 09:49 PM

Awesome! Cant wait for a vid and numbers!

Congrats Dave, Those should help wake the car up, they did for me. I'll be sticking with my 205's for a long time, even when I go more cubes.

That should really liven the car up a bunch!

Out of curiosity, when you pulled your old heads, did the head bolts feel like they wanted to break off, twisting a TON as you were taking them out? If so you know what I'm talking about.... that's the most un-nerving feeling.

davered00ss Apr 30, 2007 08:15 PM

I had to put a pipe on my wrench to get the head bolts off. :jest:

Speedy0009 May 1, 2007 12:14 AM

Sounds good Dave... Congratulations! When's the re-tune and track time scheduled??

I did it with a 2 foot long breaker bar and an impact socket..... same thing really.

Good job though, it feels a ton more rewarding when ya do that kind of stuff yourself. The bolts on the back of the heads holding the grounds on are fun too.... I put all 3 back on wht one bolt when the heads went back on, I wasn't messing with trying to put 3 of those damn things on LOL.

davered00ss May 1, 2007 10:59 AM

The grounds were actually not that bad to put back on. I had a problem taking them off, as I did not know they were there until I took the heads off the block and they would not come forward. :jest:

davered00ss May 1, 2007 10:59 AM

It's killing me not being able to drive it yet.

JL ws-6 May 1, 2007 11:14 AM

I was warned about them.. only reason I knew they were there. Those bolts are a Pita to get to, my big hands + not alot of room and a really tight bolt..... not fun.

All went back on your car with one bolt I assume like I did LOL.

Get it tuned... and enjoy! Gonna be 12 bolt time now though

davered00ss May 1, 2007 11:31 AM

No, I put both bolts back. Never even thought about using only one. :emb:

I hope the 12 bolt hold up at least for this year. :)

JL ws-6 May 1, 2007 11:41 AM

you already have a 12 bolt in the car... or are hoping the 10 bolt will hold up?
