Default Looking to move somewhere in the east coast?

I currently live in San Diego, CA. I want to move somewhere new thats family oriented and affordable. I'm looking for somewhere that's quiet, spacious and has a beautiful scenery.

I haven't been anywhere out of California so I'm not really to sure whats out there. I would love to have some of your guy's opinions.

Well if you want affordable stay off Long Island. Property taxes can be like 10 grand on a decent house here. It's nice, but expensive IMO.

Go down south to FL.

If you want affordable, quiet and beautiful, I would stay clear of the northeast in general. Quite honestly, unless you have to I wouldn't leave San Deigo. I have had 3 friends that have lived there and CT and hate it up here. I guess it is to each his own. Definitely check places out before hand but I have always liked visiting VT, NH, and Maine. Very beautiful farther up north in NE and I am assuming much more affordable and specious/quiet than anywhere around CT where I live...

a new 2000 sq ft house with 1 acre will sell for between 275,000 and 320,000. taxes are ok in CT in some areas. the housing boom is startig to slow down alittle. you might get a break in the high prices....renee zelwiger and brian denehey live near me and supposedly john travolta and julia roberts have house within 20 min. of me.......there must be something good outhere ?????

New England covers a large area... City, country and everything in between. Also if you choose the Northeast... think real hard about if you want to live were it's cold and snowy 4-5 months of the year...

It's a lot more affordable to live up here... but it's also harder to make a living, the pay scale sucks. On the other hand I can see why some people like it up here.

I'm originally from Ventura, CA myself.... let me tell you stay someplace warm! I myself am tring to move down to Orlando, FL. Housing is reasonalbe. Beach is 45 minutes away. Lots to do. Great schools there also and best of all NO STATE INCOME TAX and EMISSIONS testing there

If you have your heart set on New England, I can give you the RI Perspective. I live in Newport. If your a yuppie this is heaven.... 1/3 of billion dollar mansions , Robert Kincade Gallery. The town was founded in 1639 and has more authenitc still-in-use houses from that era than enywhere else in the USA. Lots of festivals also. Main employer is the Gvt here, or Contracting out to the Gvt. Houses are obsuredly expensive even for a a fixer-upper. Expect a 1/2 mil for a new house. Abd due to the moist conditions it is allergy prone area. RI is the 4th worst in the tax burden to its citizens. Hope this helps.

cost of living sucks on the east coast. The most bang for your buck would be Texas

do a search for pennsylvania, poconos. it is vacation land but still only 1-1.5 hours to philly and nyc depending on where exactly you are standing.
the nice part is that it is still country enough that property isn't expensive, the towns are small enough that the taxes aren't bad, and you have easy access to make any number of cities and amusements a day trip if you so desire.

the cape is pretty sweet, if i was comming from cali its def where id want to move. im down near the tip which is insanley overpriced and expensive and its getting emptier every year w/ ******** buying 2nd homes to leave vacant for most the year.. but the upper cape is affordable and would be a nice place to raise a family imo. if you want to look into it check out harwhich/dennis/yarmouth/sandwich/barnstable.. theres a few more towns more up cape but im not too familiar w/ any of them. goodluck man
