Default expecting too much??

Well after all the posts on here with people going mid 11's and 1.5's in the 60' cam only i've decided to ask for help. my cars best time has been 11.92@113 on a 1.7 60'.since i went to draglites and mt dr's the car has been very consistant.the last 2 weeks the car has been running 12.0's and 11.9's when the sun goes down. 60's have been consistant 1.6's.the setup is
230/224 tr cam
ls6 intake
pacesetters with duals dumped
4400 vig
3.73's
draglites(275/50 mt dr's)
bmr lca's,tq arm,sfc's
the raceweight is around 3650
it doesn't feel like it's spinning but i can't get any better than 1.6(flashing or stalling it) . the 1/8 mph is 89.xx but it only traps 112 or 113.could this be a converter issue?last dyno was 352/340 unlocked. my goal is to run 11.7's now and maybe get kicked off the track when the good air comes back.any help is greatly appreciated.

The problem with "stalled" auto's is that the converter helps get you going but there is going to be slippage, the MPH will be more close to what the et is were as the et for a m6 is always higher then the et result.

Your at the point where, you need to start dumping weight, playing with tire PSI, maybe a set of skinnies

i am running skinnys and i'm gonna try to get rid of some weight, but will that help the 60'.i've seen full weight cars cut 1.5x's with just a verter. i feel like the car is missing something based on the results i see on here.it seems like most cam only cars are well into the 11's.

Oh and if you wanna feel better.

Here is my old LT1, no mind you that I had a stock 10 bolt, 3.23 gears, NO suspenion on Nitto's with a 2000 stall but it was a 383 with head work a Wussy cam due to emissions.

http://www.fbody.com/timeslips/member.cgi?id=560

I struggled to get a 12.086 at LVD, with a heavier car. Although the car needed things like gear, a bigger stall, bigger cam, there are cars that are not as lucky as LS1's. So dont feel bad your not hitting deep 11's

Your car is heavy. Also was the car street /track tuned or just dyno tuned? There is a difference under load at the track.

my factory tach is off about 400rpm's and it is right around 6400 at the trap.i had the tranny rebuilt with the transgo kit(shifts are firm). it has the stock interior because the 1 time i took the backs out they felt really light. would a better cam(not a monster though) drop any et? i only picked up 3 tenths with this 1

don't feel so bad, i have a much bigger cam and don't run much better than you on motor. it is all in the setup, and im kind of setup for nitrous. your 60' issue sounds like mine (the car just doesn't have the power to 60' any harder). if you are gonna stay N/A maybe try 4.10's to come out harder. not EVERYBODY'S car flies like some of the cars on here- can't let it get you down.

Theres a few problems

#1 your running 98 heads
#2 your cam is smaller than most guys
#3 Your about 400 lbs too heavy

If you want to stay bolt on, find a set of 01/02 heads and pick another cam.

The cheapest thing to do right now is drop weight. Get rid of the A/C, bumper supports, every thing in the hatch. ETC.

i am runng 98 heads and had a 224 cam and ran 11.7 at 116, but was lighter and i had a lot smaller converter.

you need to loose weight and with the size of that converter i would go with a larger cam. with my224 that had i had a 3200 vig converter.
the back seats dont amke a difference in wieght but the rear seat belts do.

I was comparing him to the way faster cam only cars, the ones going 10s and low 11s

ac has been gone for a long time. i was thinking about the bumper supports and stripping the carpet for something lighter. i didn't pick the cam, when i told the shop what i wanted they talked me into this cam because of the a4(i wanted the torquer2 at the time). i do dd the car but i can put up with alot(solid mounts,no ac,ect...) so i think i might go with a bigger cam

Your track #'s are not too far off from what I would expect from your car.

Those cam only guys running mid 11's are running some .600 plus lift cam's and usually weight around 3200lbs.

Is your cam the 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA?
I honestly think there are better cam options for you but you don't have to go huge to reach your goals.

When my car was cam only (not much bigger than yours) it would run 11.9x w/ a 3500 stall 1.7 60" but I did have 241 heads.

Don't get frustrated. Are you still running cats? How about a underdrive pulley, ported throttle body? All those things add up to 2-3 tenths. You got a really big converter for your setup, I just think the efficiency up top is hurting you a bit. All and all 11.9 for a 3650lb car is pretty good.

(do yourself a favor and leave the bumper supports in if it's a D/D)

I'll bet you'd run quicker w/around a 3800 stall, but just my opinion....WJ
