Exclamation August 18th Toms River meet CANCELLED!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but:

I just got a call from my friend who's brother is a sargeant down in the Toms River/Manchester County area.
Turns out as some of us had suspected all along that the cops DO in fact read the internet message boards sometimes and do searches under their particular municipalities names and this August 18th meet has come up on their 'watch list'.
I was informed that any large car gatherings at either of the Wawas, White Castle or Stop 'N Shop will be broken up immediately.
Threats of checking for (and ticketing for if not legal) inspection stickers, catalytic converters, no front plates, tinted windows and loud exhausts were mentioned as well.

Sorry guys, not worth the risk.

Please spread the word and post this on the other local message boards that you frequent as well.

FBI is part of DHS. I heard the CIA is listening to our cell phones too.

Wow, they have nothing better to do than read forums and harass muscle car owners? Sounds like tax money well spent.

if no one is racing or doing anything stupid does "loitering" allow them legally to detain us and look over our vehicles?

That doesn't mean people aren't out on 37 everynight anyway...people are out there every night, hanging out, going to many different places....I'll be out....not to mention their are meets out on 37 every month, either Evo's, STI's, and many other cars...if you want to call it a risk be my guest, but when ever you take a modified car out of your drive way it's a risk to get pulled over. I'm out on 37 alot with groups of 30+ cars, and yes the cops kick us out, but never get harrased we are just told to leave, then we go to another parking lot....

Just out of curiosity, did the "less then friendly" exchange in the last thread influence their decision in any way?

This is the gayest ******* post I've ever seen. Four thousand threads/posts/forums/TTT's/banter/**** talking and the "meet" gets cancelled.

Fact is no meet ever has to be coordinated. Toms River just happens to have a 6 lane ******* highway that runs from ~Manchester all the way down to Sleazeside. The only things that stops people from hanging out is the God damn rain.

thank you sir...should I expect to see you this saturday?

Seriously...how are you going to cancel my meet? If people want to go, they will go...I could see if I was advertising this as an LS1Tech.com meet...but I'm not....so how are you going to tell me that "my" meet is canceled? Just wondering I mean, I thought everyone had free will and if someone wants to take ride to Toms River, and stop at Rt. 37, then what the hell come on down, who is going to stop em? Sure as hell isn't going to be the cops.
