Default 11.4's@124.48mph once again SHOOT ME!!!w/video

My FN car hates my freaking guts. Once again for the 5th time now my car will run 11.6's and the last pass of the day/nite will always ALWAYS be a 11.4x pass ranging from 124-126mph. Weather doesnt seem to freaking care. It was slightly cooler tonight and yet my car still ran the same as it has in 85-90degree weather. The only thing I did not do this time was put Torco Race fuel additive in at all. Usually when i get to the track with approx 10gallons in the car and dump one can of MACH series 114octane accelerator. Well sorry to bore you's yet again but heres the evenings pass's. However this time I took a friend took video to show you experts what i'm doing and maybe we'll figure out how to get those 1.5x 60fts the car should be cutting.

R/T .315 (crazy enough the other driver my friend had the EXACT same R/T)
60ft-1.814-Launched 5500rpm spun hard
330ft-4.996
1/8th-7.588
mph--96.72
1000ft-9.816
1/4mi-11.658
MPH--123.76

R/T .096
60ft-1.722-Launched at 5K rpms bogged hard
330ft-4.957
1/8th-7.560
mph--96.15
1000ft-9.785
1/4mi-11.622
MPH--123.95

R/T .236
60ft-1.700-Launched at 5500rpm spun sideways out of the hole and kept in it
330ft-4.843
1/8th-7.413
mph--97.12
1000ft-9.626
1/4mi-11.457
MPH--124.48

Video coming soon.

I just don't get it. Like you said, it doesn't seem to matter what the conditions are, the car will be all over the map and then on the last pass, BOOM 11.4X.

I will try to get some vids up tomorrow night after work. I know the last pass I was directly behind him, and the thing kicked out HARD to the side coming off the line, but like he said, he kept in it and ended up being the best run of the night.

whats your rear tire pressure at?

leaving that high on et streets i cant see how you spinning them unless you have alot of air in them or your not doing a big enough burnout.

get that vid upload.

Tire pressure was lowered to 16psi HOT. Video coming this evening I think. I can put to much pressure on the camera man lol Personally I think it looks mucho coolio sliding sideways still cutting a 1.700 J/K
Demonicbird...maybe I should run your car at the track for you just to see what I"m doing wrong. SOUND GOOD? OK see you then.

Yikes, what's up with the 60'? And on ET Streets? That's a sick trap speed, but I was cutting a 1.7 60 on Nittos with 50-60 less rwhp and 40 less rwtq, plus a heavier car that was only trapping 112.9.

Hmmm, if you're still spinning and you're sure the tire pressure is OK, you're just going to have to launch lower. My 1.7 was launching at around 4000-4200rpm and i didn't have any bogging issues if I used the gas pedal correctly. Definitely try launching a bit lower. What suspension work do you have done?

And I know there are a ton of variables and our setups are different, but I'm just trying to give any info I can.

that's still ****** fast! like you said if you can get a low 1.5 60' you could see 10's.

if spinning is your problem, maybe focus on more weight over the rear of the car and taking weight OUT of the front of the car. i threw my battery in the spare tire well, took out the f. bumper support, a/c system, windshield washer resevior. when i launch it acts like it has 90/10's in it but still drives normal. car dead hooks every time on 28" m&h drag radials. couldn't make it spin if i tried i'd just break something. STOCK suspension on my junk also, just a swaybar and poly trans/tq arm bushings.

Maybe thats the problem? I know that Brent, Rob, Mark, Joe etc, pretty much all the CARTEK Vette guys run 10.5psi in 26x11.5 16 ET Streets.

The track might not have been hooking, and the weather was shitty. But 16spi is more then any other Vette guy I know runs his tires.

I think your running too much tire psi as Alex stated. Try 13-12 psi. to start off with. Not sure what your routine is for heating your slicks so you may do this already but just in case- do a short dump in 1st in the water to get the tires wet then pull forward out of the water and do a John Force burnout in 2nd gear to get the tires spinning faster and making them hotter. You will have to do a high dump not to bog the engine down. Sorry if you do this already. With 28" slicks I have to dump above 6,400 rpm if the track is prepped good in order not to bog. Just a suggestion

i had a problem launching mine. i was launching at 4-4500 and it would bog so i added psi in the tires and still boged im talking 22+ psi

so next time i went i started with 24 psi and a 5k dump i spun
so i kept lowering the psi untill it hooked. once i hooked it upped the rpm. then it would spin a lil so then i would lower the psi

keep rasing the launch and lowering your tire psi you will find a sweet spot and your set

Here is the video of all 3 runs. In the last run I made sure to film everything from him first rolling up to the water. You can see he does a quick spin in the water to get the tires wet before doing a nice long burnout.

Looks to me like the problem is the tire pressure being too high. I also think that you might want to look into the ET radials and not just the regular ET streets anymore.

Are those 16" wheels? Could the problem be that you simply don't have enough sidewall to launch that high with those tires no matter what?

The rims are 16in and should be no problem due to thats the smallest rim you can put on a C5. I'm going to buy bias ply front runners and lower the tire pressure in the rear.

The flashers was for the nice single turbo eclipse that cut down through the line and asked the guy behind me to run the vette as I over hear cause him and his buddies wanted to see him "SMOKE" a vette tonight. I believe the announcer stated "now what that vette just did to the eclipse was just wrong". LMAO!!!

Not hijacking but any issues (loss of amp etc) with battery in rear? I was thining about going that route.
