Just installed SFC's

Damn what a difference! Why didnt I do this sooner? They're UMI bolt in for vert's. i may weld them in later, but i just wanted to get them in for now.

Ya they stiffen up those f-bodies real good, goes to show ya just how much flex there is in cars.

Ugh just one more thing i forgot to add to my list of things for the year. Just when you think you're happy all kinds of things pop into your head.

Weird... I didn't feel anything in mine. Then again I had LCAs and an adjustable PHB before them so maybe I just didn't realize. I got UMIs too though, great quality pieces.

bring it to me, i'll do it up:D:chug:

i pulled mine off my car...they were only good for being jacking points but once i lowered my car, they served no purpose cause the jack wouldn't fit under anymore.

the chassis on our cars is very stiff and doesn't need SFC's unless you are doing some hardcore launching at the track all the time IMO. as long as the rest of the uber terrible suspension GM endowed us with is replaced/kept up with, i feel SFC's are just added weight.

Sweetness! I just posted on another board about looking for a good person to do this on the car. How far east are you?

CamaroRacing12 Mar 27, 2008 05:25 PM

digitalbird Mar 27, 2008 05:30 PM

I think im gonna weld them this weekend. This way they get to settle in nice. As for the not making a difference post... What planet you from boy? I could tell as soon as I drove down the street just normally. As soon as I hit a bump I was like whoa no more insane rattles in the car!!

IROC403 Mar 27, 2008 06:14 PM

I noticed a little difference in my ss, my old 3'rd gen was unreal. before them it
would creek pulling out out my driveway. I imagin in a vert it should be a big improvement. call me sat, I work till 1, then u can use the drive on lift to keep
things nice and level and weld em up.:chug:

digitalbird Mar 27, 2008 06:16 PM

werd Iroc!!

ynkssws6 Mar 27, 2008 06:18 PM

I didn't feel anything either, but then again I put them in at 7k and yours is a vert. Congrats on the mod though :drive:

Well then, it seems clear that we should buy our SFCs at the same time, bolt them into our cars, and then cruise our two F-bodies out to his place. If that works for him, of course.
