Default New Emissions for NJ, CT

This came across my computer at work today:

"The significant changes to the 2009 MY emissions restrictions include addition of New Jersey, Oregon and Washington as California Emissions States for Passenger Car and Light-Duty Trucks. For Medium-Duty Vehicles, Connecticut, Oregon, Rhode Island and Washington are now California Emissions State."

Those states now have to have "California Emissions" to be sold/registered in NJ, etc.

Yup - new 2009 MY (Model Year)

California Emissions with the Ford Focus, for example, require the less powerful 4 cylinder engine which is 8 hp less than the non-"E" Duratec 4 cyl. which is not PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) labeled.

I see the "gas guzzler" tax of $1000 just the start of a way to tax those vehicles (Shelby, Saleen, Corvette, Camaro, G8) which liberals deem "undesireable" and just plain outside thier realm.
