Quick Time 8 Results from QTP EFI Race
Had a good turn out this past sat for the QTP EFI Race. We had some really fast cars to race in our QUICK TIME 8 heads up class. I think this race was the fastest it has ever been.
Here was the cars.
1. Tektrans Mark 9.625@137.83
2. Stealth Turbo C5 Mike 9.64@150.41
3. 1984CamaroZ28 Charles 10.099@141.39
4. Firehawk441 Rick 10.357@133.95
5. Redgar Edgar 10.533@129.13
6. Asmokgars Alan 10.797@131.31
7. Quick Time Barry 11.156@133.07
8.
It was an up and down day with the QT8 Class.
First round
Tektrans By run
1984CamaroZ28 beat Asmokgars
Redgar beats SteathTurbo C5 (tranny seal broke)
Firehawk441 beats Quick Time
In between round 1 and 2 Firehawk441 has an issue with a bad oring injector and out of the race. Redgar while making a pass at the Corvette Challenge breaks and is out of the race.
So Tektrans and 1984CamaroZ28 were left for the finals. Both where running new best of mid 9s. Tektrans redlights and leaves early giving the win to 1984CamaroZ28.
Congrates to Charles 1984CamaroZ28 for the Quick Time 8 Race 1 Champion!
Nice to see some new faces to the race this year. Made it real fun. Wish all of us where problem free but that was not the case.
So here is a recap with all the bugs everyone had:
Ken breaks and axle because he thinks he is John Force.
Mark gets harassed because of no 9 sec license. Rick give him fire pants.
Charles fiberglass hood blows off the roof from wind when doing some adjustments.
Edgar breaks his vette cause he thinks he can race his car in every class that day
Rick fighting injector o rings leaking. Lucky it didnt go on fire.
Big Mike having a tranny issue and oiled down the entire pits back to the trailers. Zambonie followed him back.
I myself had some bugs to work out like my power window would not go up and couldnt make a pass. And my shifting was not a issue this race. Working out the new suspension a dealing with an oil blowing out because of no breather.
And we could have an EFI race if we didnt get to see PJ bending over a hood showing off his boxers. Ken has video of it.
Hope to more people out for the race #2 May 31st.

my first qual pass my trans brake wire spade came out and being the idiot i am went off the foot barke in 2nd gear. Why dident they keep my 2nd qual pass of 9.5@140 mph???? it whould have been a killer finial if he dident red light

I didn't really red light. I never activated the transbrake and the car crept through the beams when I gave it throttle.
It was a dumb mistake but I really couldn't cut a good light off the footbrake on the pro tree (which I had been running all day because I haven't dialed the car in yet) and I knew you were just a bit faster than me and the only chance I had was to cut a killer light.
Not the best time to change things up in the final but there was no way I was going to beat you with the lights I'd been cutting all day. Driver error.
Would have been a great final, maybe next time.

Ahh, so it appears that the bump spot was somewhere between 10.79 and 11.15...one could maybe round that up to 10.80 - 11.20 or so?

Bah. She's in PA right now getting an all new rear. Not just stubs. I don't mess around. Went right to the GTO experts at Rocksand.
Next time my car sees the strip she'll be sporting skinnies and some nice 26x11.5s on the rump.
