Ready to Race... When's the rental??

Well, the car has been out officially for about two and a half weeks now! It has been ready to race since I put it away last season... Yesterday I added rear Drag Springs with my drag bags for insurance.... I have Catless Mid-pipes as well now, to lose the cats on race days.... so I am in even better condition to race this season!! But No cat-back yet! LoL  Can't wait to try out the new ET Drags with the ProStars!!!! Perhaps a tweak in the tune (kill-mode) and some 10 second passes this year!!!

So when's the first gathering for a rental?? Don, Keith, Dave, Dan, Marco, Matt (8ALTNG), Matt (Cyborg), Anthony, Mike (02SCVette), Joe, Justin etc.....???

Did you change the spark plugs?

DannoWS6 Apr 18, 2008 06:02 PM

I can't wait to go bud. My car will be ready in approx 1 month from now I think. I'm gonna order up my rear next week and hopefully it will be in by then. Then I need to graciously ask Don again to tweak my gearing and shift points from last season. :)

Worst case, I still go to hang out. Either way we will bring Mike's vette out I think, I'm curious to see how it runs

Not yet.. But I do have a fresh set sitting on the shelf... I will have time next week to do an oil change, spark plug swap and make sure everything else is ready to go....

Picking up the car tomorrow from Don. It's all ready to go this season. Unless Don does Phase 2 on it soon. :secret2:

I thought you ran a 10 sec pass last year?

Nope.. closest I came was 11.29 @ 126

The wheels were spinning in the tires on launch and shifts... this year I will try out the 15" wheels and if need be put screws in them! I think that was the only thing holding me back besides not power shifting or perhaps the stock cat back.

I'm curious too. :D Feels plenty strong and I still haven't taken it over 5k RPM's yet. Still got the traction issue though.... I just passed the 700 mile mark so it's time for another oil change. Handling seems really good with the new shocks too.

Averaged 25 mpg in it today.

I think I'm looking at July at the first part to try my new car. I have to adjust the car and get used to the power. PUREVL spent alot of money on this car and I think I can run low 10's, or maybe high 9's. The issue I'm going to have to face is dealing with another 6 speed. Auto/power glides are easy. Only real drivers can handle standards, lol:D

Krazy98Z28 Apr 19, 2008 07:54 PM

My car wont be ready until late june early July

davered00ss Apr 19, 2008 08:21 PM

Got the car back today. The difference is amazing. Thanks again Don. :)

BoostedLT5 Apr 19, 2008 08:39 PM

Just let me know man. I am still saving money up over here for the fuel system and the bar. The cam only runs are promising for a high 11 sec pass off the nitrous.

Speedy0009 Apr 20, 2008 08:24 AM

Cool guys... This should be a great season.

Mike- I can't wait to see results with the fresh motor and clutch!

Fred99Z28- are you buying Purevl???

Marco- What's left to do, to get the car going?

Dave- What did you have done to the car? Spill the beans.... :D

Anthony- I am still saving for a few things for the car as well but I really want a ten second pass on the stock H/C/bottom end first! We'll have to do a rental or a T&T whereas I have the full slicks, unless I find some ET Streets or make an attempt on DR's :chug:

Getting the itch, just have to find a trailer.

davered00ss Apr 20, 2008 08:49 AM

Nothing yet. All in the planing stage now. :secret2:

davered00ss Apr 20, 2008 08:50 AM

Clutch/tranny issues from the past 2 years should be gone now. So I should get a good pass in. :jest:

speeddemongto Apr 20, 2008 04:41 PM

I got my tune finished up from don so all I need now is a louder exhaust and some sticky tires :D

JJsnowking Apr 20, 2008 05:18 PM

Hopefully have the money for the rest of my parts by next weekend :secret2: Then after there all in, I'll be ready to go.

Put the Magnaflows back on the car and call it a day! Quiet is good, loud and raspy sucks unless just using at the track of course!! Enjoy the car Cy!
