For all you motorcycle riders :(
Please PLEASE be careful when you're out riding around.........Some of you may or may not know that I am a member of a car club based out of Cherry hill NJ called Controlled Insanity. We are a very close family of 21 enthusiasts ranging from imports to domestics, from young to old.........I just got some very bad news about 30 minutes ago............we lost a member of our family in a motorcycle accident. I don't know any details as to how it happend, I just know it happend. I had to leave work......I don't even remember the drive home

No more donorcycles for me..
One accident for me was enough,I lost my job,my wife,my mind and it took 5 years to heal.I have the scars and 10+ surgeries to prove it and cant stand or walk for more than 10 minutes w/o sitting down now
I was SITTING STILL on my GSXR1100 when I got hit
I wasnt moving and got nailed at a light.
I am sorry for your bud but again there just not worth the risk..

Sorry for your loss.
On the topic though, if you're riding, wear the best equipment possible. Don't go out wearing a helmet with shorts and a t-shirt. My brother went down and had to be medivac'd out and his helmet was cracked in half. Fortunately for him, he was wearing a set of riding leathers and gloves and walked away with a couple cracked ribs, slight concussion and dislocated knee. If he hadn't been wearing the right gear, he would still need skin graphs 7 years later.

It's been a shitty 3 days since I'd heard this horrible news at around 2am Saturday morning.
We'd all gotten together on Saturday through Sunday and that certainly helps with the grieving process but the wake is Wednesday evening with the funeral on Thursday morning and that will NOT be an easy time for any of us that knew this great guy.
To make matters worse he has a 10 year old daughter who was VERY close to him too.

Sorry for the lose of your friend. I don't know the circumstances, but I do not understand why people don't respect or pay attention to motor cycle riders. Maybe sometimes you do not notice them, but I don't recall ever having a close call with them. Obviously, there are a fair share of stupid riders, but it seems like plenty of people are killed by the neglect of drivers in cars.

Sorry to hear about your friend, I hate hearing about these kind of things. Lately I have been really thinking about getting a bike and setting the car stuff aside for awhile but things like these really make me think its not worth it. My dad is always complaining how people never see him its terrible really is.

I was thinking about selling my camaro for a brand new Hiyabusa so that I can save money on gasoline, but news like this really turns me off. I guess I can only fantasize about driving one.

Damon, they are fun no doubt. But when I started riding people told me it wasn't a question of "if" you fell. But when and how bad. I stopped there. I don't want it to take me falling or dying to realize riding isn't worth it. It's a blast, fun no doubt. But, I'm going to stick to building my camaro to go just as fast if not faster
